Going from Army to Navy, SAR Swimmer?

So, once my contract ends, I want to go to the navy but I had a few questions about SAR Swimmers. I would like someone who is an SAR Swimmer to answer. Thanks.

1. Is there a Reserves unit?

2. What do you do while not deployed?

3. Any idea if there's a good bonus attached? Not that I'm looking for one, it just helps to have some cash!!

4. What do you do on a ship while not in a helicopter rescuing someone? (When deployed)

5. Do you fly with the same helicopter crew each time?

Thanks!!

    1. Yes they have Aviation Rescue Swimmers in the Navy Reserves.

    2. Aviation Rescue Swimmers is not a Navy Rate, its an additional duty.

Swimmers are in the following Rates.

    Aviation Machinist Mate

    Aviation Electrician's Mate

    Aviation Structural Mechanic

    Aviation Structural Mechanic - Structures

    Aviation Ordnanceman

    Aviation Electronics Technician

    Aviation Warfare Systems Operator

So you do your normal rate.

    3. Most Rates have reenlistment bonus's

    4. You do you normal Rate

    5. Yes

Note: Rescue Swimmer training is just an additional 3 weeks of training, besides your Rate's A School.

Its not like Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer training

    1. don't know

    2. work out. training.

    3. when i joined 5 years ago, no bonus. right now i don't know. but would guess no.

    4. nothing. x-box

    5. you will be stationed to a helicopter unit. so yes. but people are transferring every few years. so people will come and go.

It is not as easy as it seems. there is a lot of hard work. and the training is very intense. It isn't for the feint of heart.

with regard to the guy who spoke back "HIPAA privateness rules look after your scientific suggestions. they only comprehend what you tell them." no longer SO, that answer grew to become into thoroughly fake. HIPAA would not look after a guy or woman who applies for militia provider, would not look after a recruit, nor an energetic accountability soldier the two. all your scientific information are an open e book to the army, they are able to and could look into besides the fact which you tell them, and likewise what you do no longer tell them. in case you knowingly cover a scientific undertaking and by some potential make it previous boot camp, whilst they do discover out you would be discharged below penalty of fraudulent enlistment. As others have wisely reported approximately bronchial asthma, in case you have it previous age 12 you're completely disqualified from all militia provider, it would not count number in case you have under no circumstances touched an inhaler on account that then.
