How to ge rid of bronchitis?
A few days ago I went to the doctor, apparently I had or I still have bronchitis. The same bronchitis was causing fever, headaches, and high blood pressure. I feel better now, except I keep coughing a lot. I read the cough can last up to 6 weeks. I really don't want to go to the doctor for the 3rd time since I don't have insurance. The phlegm has become thinner each day, I hardly cough up phlegm now. The medicine he prescribed is running out, I still have plenty prescribed antibiotic. Now my question is, if I can buy over the counter medication like mucinex to help me get rid of the cough and phlegm, and if I can should I keep taking the antibiotic along with mucinex?
Any help I would appreciate it I really need to get some sleep!

Take the antibiotics as long as your doctor told you too-- even after your symptoms are gone. The infection can return if you don't. And the cough is the last thing to go away with bronchitis, you will probably have it for a while after your other symptoms have revolved. I don't know if mucinex will help, but it won't hurt? Just get lots of rest and eat well.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!
The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

Take some nyquil... you might have a cold along with the brochitis. Try exercising to thin out the bronchistis, i grew out of mine due to being active alot. Take some sleep pills though, good luck :)
