Is it safe to perform door breaching with the M1200 shotgun?

I'm OIC for an upcoming shotgun range and would like to include a couple breaching obstacles. I'm doing research for it and all publications refer to the Mossberg 500 or 590. Is it safe to perform a doorknob and/ or hinge breach with the Winchester 1200? Also what is the probability of pellets ricocheting back onto the firer?

Yes it is fine. Any pump action will perform the same action.

With any shotgun whether it be single, pump, semi, or auto, if you are going to be doing door breaches with it, the safety concerns as for pellot ricochet will be the same as they all use the same type of round generally. As long as you stand at the correct angle and take proper caution when performing the task, it should be safe.

William M is correct if you actually have breaching rounds like shokloks then there is nothing to worry about. If you are like every combat unit I have been in all we are issued is 00 Buck so we have to make do.

Its not really Pellets. Its Wood Splinters for the most part.

And the thing is Breaching rounds are not made of Pellets.

They are made of Lead powder.

The "Masterkey" System Follows this idle.

And in my Experience, It's much earyer just to kick the door in, or use a hammer.
