How much of a diff is there from London to the countryside when it comes to opinions on hunting/shooting?

Londoner's are a breed to themselves - if your north of Watford your a foreigner to a Cockney. I live about 140 miles north of London.

City folk have a different perspective to country folk. I have several London based clients who partake in driven Pheasant, Partridge and Grouse shooting - serious money changes hands. Several thousand pound for the day.

If I tell them I was sitting in the high seat at 5am waiting for a shot at fallow deer, lamping foxes at 2am or shooting wood pigeon on a Saturday afternoon they think I've taken all leave of my senses. Don't get me wrong not all are like this. I've had some great days shooting with guys from the south.

There are far more hunters/shooters in England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland than the Republic of Ireland.

I can only apologise for the lack of knowledge of my fellow countryman.

I can't specifically answer your question because I've never been to London or a countryside close to it, but I can relate from a US perspective. It depends on the person's upbringing. If you were raised to hunt, fish and shoot then you are fine with it. Some people were raised to think that all guns are terrible weapons of mass destruction, lol. And that the people that use them are all crazy bloodthirsty rednecks.
