Where to sell old valuable books, mostly Bibles and Christian references?

My Dad died March 3 of this year. I have his library and am selling all the old valuable ones where I can find places to get the most for them to help my mother and myself also.

Does anyone know any places online, addresses/catalogues for book buyers, etc?

I have things like a 1549 Latin Vulgate, pre-1800 Welsh Bible with metal corners, metal latches, other embellishments, a 1550 Stephanus and other things.

Plus a lot of secular books on places and peoples throughout history and the world....

Thanks,

Debbie

Update:

Remier....you'd think wouldn't you? However, that is not true of most religions. The books/references you get from mainline sources can cost anywhere from $10-20 up to hundreds.

My Dad paid thousands of dollars to churches and their bookstores for these.

Check out Christian Boook Distributors, one of the biggest book sellers and priciest even though they are mail order, etc.

Churches would likely not want them for any reference use. If anything, the preacher would be most likely to sell them to these same places and pocket the money.

I've seen many church libraries. They rarely even have Bibles in them, much less all these references so people can check out things.

Thanks though!

Debbie

Update 2:

Thanks, zanzibar!

The rest of my family couldn't handle it so they all ran off to Texas when he was dying. My girls, my hubby and I were with him daily the last 10 days of his life in the hospital.

It was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. Most of my family died when I was a kid and I never saw it.

Love and hugs,

Debbie

try Googling Hay-on-Wye bookshops. It´s a city in Wales burting on the seams with bookshops - it´s international popular for 2d hand books from the most inexpensive to the most pricey. It´s a 2d-hand bookstall mecca, and there´s sure to be one there who will be VERY fascinated in contacting you about your books. Make a itemizing of your books, get a itemizing of bookshops in Hay-on Wye and commence e-mailing!

I always felt that religious books of any type should be free.

I suggest donate them to churches where accepted
