Why Did Obama Refuse the Dutch Oil Skimmers Days After the Oil Well Blow-Out?
President Obama refused the offer by the Dutch to deploy their oil skimmers two days after the oil spill began and is finally just now considering accepting their offer. Why would President Obama wait two months to consider their offer?
President Bush waived the Jones Act two days after Katrina. In an emergency, it can be done.

Frankly he thought it would look bad that he needed outside help from a foreign country. It would look as if he didn't have control of the spill.

Tune in to his address tonight and you may find he answers your question. It's obvious that more skimmers are required in the gulf of Mexico especially with hurricane season now in progress. If the president doesn't accept the. Dutch offer, and others, then he must have a very good reason or he risks a backlash from the public who want all hands on deck who are qualified to materially assist in the clean up.

He's NUTS! more than 80% of Americans ancestors came from Europe! It's not that we are all full blooded Native Americans!! The Jones Act is obsolete!!! Maybe he thinks it's beneath him to ask for help! He can't stay on top of a crumbling pyramid forever. It's time to face the music, even if there are going to be a few sour notes!!

Obama will do just the opposite of what a sane President would do. He hates the USA and unless he has a complete disaster on his hands, he won't get the power or backing he needs from the Americans to complete his Socialist Agenda. Trouble is, Americans are waking up. Finally!

As I understand it, the Jones Act (passed in the 1920s) makes it difficult for ships that don't have crews that are 75% American to help out. There's a government body that can waive the Jones Act, and now they are under pressure to do so. If Obama simply allowed the Dutch oil skimmers into American waters, he would have been breaking the law.
But, it sounds like the Act has been or is in the process of being waived, and it's being reviewed by Homeland Security. Obama, not surprisingly, is exercising intelligence and restraint in the interest of our laws and national security.

Its no secret that obama dont like oil or coal for energy------he campaigned against both before his election. He wants as much damage as possible to push his cap and trade bill which would be worse for Americans than the health billis. The truth is, this administration is trying to do away with free enterprise and capitalism as we know it. They want the government to control everything. Americans really need to look at what exactly is going on in Washington. If you look for yourself, you would join the tea party movement too

He is subscribing to the Rahm Emanuel School of Politics. This ecological disaster will work nicely into the plans and memory of the citizens in order to ban drilling.
He will be able to pass CAP AND TRADE. and we being the compassionate Americans we are he will have hours of video of dead and dying animals showing the evils of oil, when oil is not the villain. Ignoring the disaster is the villain.

the same reason he refused Boom from main. He wants the oil to cause devastation so he can blame BIG OIL , Bush and conservatives in order to push forward cap n tx and possibly nationalize the US Oil industry. He is an evil man and America can not afford his Communist Fascist ideology
