Why does Y/A **** out the other word for "donkey?" I mean, really.?

Ditto the original moniker for "African Americans" and I'm not talking about the derogatory version.

    I agree... it's silly...

    you can't call :

    a donkey.... an áss

    a cigarette.... a fág

    little blue birds...títs

    a female dog... a bítch

However, you CAN call someone a ******, a wanker, a bum burglar or a bugger with impunity.

    Why the thumb-down?....it's true!

Yahoo proves it is possible to write without offering insult to donkeys. Saying "bottoms" though doesn't quite have the same appeal though does it?

I would like to know why "Zordan" is a word I am not allowed to say at home though; I saw it written down near the computer and when I asked my teen son gets aghast! Honestly, I cannot find any reference as to why it should be a rude word or something.

    Yes, it's really silly.

I write a lot in Spanish

and their word for black = n egro is always

    censored.

Another strange one is the Latin word for

    with = c um.

So you can't write the title of a hymn

C um Santo Spiritu normally in Y/A!

    Nuts!

Because some people find these words offensive, simple as.

Although the latter is the word for the colour black in Spanish, so it's not helpful if you want to refer to that...
