Is Rep. Joe Barton looking right to apologize to BP for having to set-up a $20B fund?

Rep. Barton characterized the $20B as a shakedown by the Obama administration. Considering the magnitude of BP's mess-up, should a member of the U.S. House of Representatives be taking this position? Please keep is civil.

No, a witch hunt isn't helpful. And in case you watch the video and Barton's establishing comments, he states that BP must be held in charge for the disaster in the event that they certainly are negligent. What Obama is doing is an attack on a private employer. Many many individuals even have inventory in BP and could lose their retirement if BP fails, so no longer purely does our government have pastimes in rapidly resolving this concern environmentally, yet socially for the final welfare of its voters. choose extremely than villify is somewhat the gist of the message from Barton. there is unquestionably no reason that the president of america of a ought to take the tack he has chosen - so passive and susceptible! Obama is weakening our us of a on numerous fronts. Joe Barton did the wonderful element. many voters attempt to return up with suggestions to the disaster while Obama has none, nor has he acted on any suggestions provided. He needs a private employer to do some thing they are actually unable to accomplish that it may fail. Coercing the employer to establish a $20 billion sufferer fund isn't a technique of the administrative branch of our government. I wish extra elected officers might call Obama out while he does unconstitutional issues.

Hello, libs, the prez DOES NOT have the Constitutional authority to bully BP, who already agreed to be responsible for damages, into a slush fund managed by one of his personally appointed czars. This will only put the payouts from the fund under the control of a left wing bureaucrat, with typical govt inefficiency and corruption. I'm betting 40% of this money will 'disappear' into the cracks and crevices of this 'agency', in 'costs, inefficiencies and lost money'.

This is striclty a political move by 0bama to try and make points with the libs and Dem's by making the damage payouts "appear" to come from the magnificent govt.

He said in his remarks, that he was speaking only for himself. But it was an assinine thing to say IMO. It's pretty much like the old saying,"when you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all~!"
