My Hair Metal band of the day (Take 7)?
I have been doing this post to showcase bands either never got the recognition they deserved or to show that there are more to these bands then the song or two that they are known for.
Today's band is Europe. They are one of the more well known bands in the genre but what most people do not know is that they started out playing a very different style of metal. The first song I will be posting is their most recognized hit but the rest of the songs were released on their first two albums and had a very different feel to them.

yep, I missed one, and this time one I know!!! (yes I know more than just Final Countdown, I'm familiar with their newer material)
I'll skip Final Countdown I know that one, and I really like it. Future to Come has great instrumentals, but the singing that good. after listening to all the songs I found they were the same way, great instrumentals, but somewhat poor vocals (IMO)
also thought I'd post my fav. song by them:

MQ2: Kamelot hopefully fits that description, they started off pure power metal, and are now what I consider just pure symphonic metal

How about doing a segment about bands, like Y&T for example. They are a hair metal band and they are not well known.
I grew up listening to metal bands of the 80's and early 90's, including Europe. The newer music from the past decade sucks!
Metallica is not my favorite band but they actually rocked back in the 80's and early 90's. The Black Album was the last time they were any good; they have gone cooperate resulting in them either being too mellow or having no beat at all. Face it, the new Metallica sucks.
My favorite ice cream is rocky rock.

I was a kid back then and after hearing 'The Final Countdown', I immediately refused to listen to anything by them ever again. That was such a lame song. I appreciate your effort, but having been there at the time, I know that they were generally a laughing stock amongst most of the guys interested in the genre. I think the only reason for their popularity was teenage girls lusting after the lead singer, Joey something or the other.

MQ: I don't have much to say, it's a decent band and you gave links to some good songs.
MQ2: Maybe Guns N Roses? They changed a couple times. They went from Appetite, to the Illusion albums which were a little more versatile than their first album, to "The Spaghetti Incident?" which was a bunch of mostly punk covers, and now he has a new album out... which is good, I just don't know how to describe his style. XD
BQ: Ice cream actually makes me sick, as does most junk food. So next time you eat ice cream, eat a bowl for me, too? lol

Right on Bam, I always thought Final Countdown sounded like a rip-off of the song Touch and Go by ELP.
Lets talk about The Sea Hags or Junkyard.
But I do appreciate your opinion on Europe I just never really liked em.

lol, i totally admit to loving the Final Countdown, but every other song by them makes me laugh.
MA: see above. :)
MA2: hmm...Alice Cooper, they started out as a more psychedelic band, but he/they are more well known for hard rock.
