Big Media is mad at Tony Hayward for sailing today, but not mad at BO for golfing with his V.P. Why?

Is this just another sad, obvious case of Big Media Bias, or are they just that stupid?

Update:

Neenose: No what, you blithering retard? You wanna bump i.qs, I'm right here, stupid. Now answer my question!

Update 2:

Jesus was a liberal: Umm, what exactly was I "blaming" on Big Media, other than their attempt to make Obama-backer CEO look apathetic, while BO himself gets a pass. After all BO said he was in charge of the clean-up, right?

Update 3:

tonalc2: what don't you understand about the "question and answer" part of this board?

Update 4:

Iris: amen. I don't care if either men have some fun, but some only care that one guy did and I don't get it.

Update 5:

Iris: I spoke too soon. "Bush's slow response"? I beg your pardon, but at the time the National Guard was under the authority of the governor, and the governor has to ask for help before Big Government can just swoop in and take over. How you can characterize BO's response as "fast" defies all that is logical too.

Media, as usual has been giving him the pass. Remember Katrina? What was Bush's response-5 days? Yet how long did it take Obama to get there? The media's also been assisting Obama in demonizing big business. BP isn't innocent. But before they could finish taking responsibility and promising to clean it up, the press was screaming about stockholders, profits and the dark, evil lords that earn a paycheck. Lawsuits aren't just being filed, but encouraged. It's become so ridiculous, I'm beginning to wonder if running a business in this country is a criminal offense.

That said, politics is perception, and both Obama and Hayward should know this. Hayward should have stayed out of the spotlight. He doesn't need to be on site day in and day out, as he'd probably just impede progress as most in his position do. But going to a yacht race was a bad decision. Also, he's going to be the fall guy. Any power he had before this fiasco's been taken away. At this point, he's just an empty suit. That doesn't mean he can act like a doof, though. BP has a lot of work to do and keeping themselves out of this kind of "light" is necessary.

Obama, on the other hand, jumped up and down swearing this was now in his oh-so-capable hands. As with Hayward, we don't need him standing at the helm, holding up all kinds of traffic and causing problems. But baseball games and golfing after such an outburst? Not excusable. He drags his feet, turns help away, wastes valuable time meeting with BP on compensation that isn't even a drop in the bucket, gets everyone and their brother in a fury over what they were already mad about...on and on and on. You can't own something that is urgent one minute and then push it off the next minute. Oh, and while we're on the topic, "our neighbors to the south" isn't exactly endearing. We're all in the same country-all 57 states!

The whole idea that big important men can't take a little break here and there to enjoy themselves is just stupid beyond belief. What kind of person would deny either? Now it would be different if that sailing or golfing were seriously interfering with their duties, but it's not. So the whole thing is just silly sensationalism by our news media that becomes more shallow less pertinent every day. It's much like the endless stories about fluffy headed celebrities. I remember what REAL news was like; unfortunately many younger people alive today missed the really stellar journalists, so they don't know what they're missing.

And Bush's slow response when thousands of human lives were being lost -- that his quicker and better response through FEMA could have saved -- can't be compared with Obama's fast response (the Coast Guard was on it instantly and Obama was made aware of it within hours) -- when the oil was weeks from reaching the beaches and no human lives were in danger, and there was no way the army, the navy, or the government could stop BP's gusher. Anyone who thinks those two are comparable isn't thinking.

nicely stated Nemesis, leo and disgrunt. How a lot longer can we ought to submit with the shite that comes out of uppity Obama's mouth? If Hayward desires to flow crusing to handle the stress of the oil spill, so what.

According to Big Media, corporations are bad and Obama is good. It's that simple.

The corporate media is not mad at anybody. They're just trying to sell advertising and make money. Whatever attracts viewers is what they air.
