Need surgery to walk again, but no health insurance. What can I do? I live in Florida.?
I live in a city that is #4 in the highest unemployment rate and I can't get the money together to move to a better place. I have severe gout, and the uric acid from it ate away my ankle bone before I even knew what had happened. I thought it was a weak ankle and I kept wrenching it or something. I had health insurance, but it wouldn't pay for the physical therapy I need, and would need after a surgery to replace the missing bone in my ankle. The doctors are afraid to mess with me with out physical therapy set up. Being in a wheel chair has messed up my back even worse than it was before I was diagnosed with severe gout. I'm 28 years old. I have PCOS, a very bad syndrome that causes all sorts of issues that really effect my life. I had to drop my health insurance so I can keep my car insurance and my husband can go to work. So now, I can't even see my doctor at all anymore. Not even a GYN. My body is getting worse because of the wheel chair. I swim in a friend's pool for some sort of a work out, but mainly I'm in a wheel chair and at times my back (I think its a herniated disc) will suddenly give me horrible pain and I lose all strength and control of my body below my waist. I pray for God to help me. I don't have the money to prove I am disabled so I can get disability.

I feel really sorry about your situation and if i were in a position to help i would do so.....but a little advise I may offer you is for you to look in to going to other countries to get your surgery.....I have read about many people going outside of the US to get some procedures done because what they end up paying outside the US is fraction of the cost here....some good countries to consider are India(almost all the doctors here are already indians anyways), England, Wales, Dubai, Bangok, Colombia and other places like that.......do a good thorough research about the hospitals in these countries and look at their costs...call if you have to........some people even consider going to these countries for heart transplants so i'm sure they are capable of doing bone replacement in your ankle...i really hope i have helped and told you something you didn't know before...
Best of luck to you!

It relies on whether or not this can be a preexisting situation. If you did not have the gap for your center while you received the wellness coverage, then it is most likely protected. Otherwise, you can also must pay out of pocket.
