How to reformat a hard drive in a USB caddy?
I have a old 80GB laptop hard drive i would like to use with a Caddy as a back up drive however when i try to reformat the hard drive from within windows it dosnt let me. Is there a program i can use to wipe and reformat the hard drive within windows or at bios etc?
the error talks about not being able to format due to read only. I think it might be something to do with the harddrive having portions on the hard drive.....I just need something to completely wipe and remove everything and reformat the whole thing

There's a program called wipeinfo.exe that will completely wipe the drive. What error is it giving you when you try to reformat with windows/bios?
