MY 2 MONTH OLD HAS REALLY BAD ECZEMA....PLEASE HELP!?
please help if you can. my son's eczema has gotten out of hand. so bad that when i took him to go see the doctor about it, he says its the worst hes ever seen. when it first started it wasn't as bad, it was just on his face, we went to see a dermatologist who prescribed cortisone 1% ointment. after using that it seemed to clear up in a couple of days. only to come back with a vengeance a couple days later. now its everywhere, his arms, legs, back, face, neck and scalp. his hair seems to be falling out due to it. hes so itchy all the time, n he scratches it to the point that he cuts his scalp. please if anybody knows what i can do for him, please help. its heartbreaking to see him so uncomfortable. we were referred to the dermatologist yet again but it takes forever to get an appointment.

My nephew-in-law just wen to the Mayo clinic for really bad eczema. From what my sister told me, they wrapped his skin in gauze after cleaning and treating it. It helped to hold in the moisture in and made a barrier from scratching.
Is there a history of allergies or asthma in the family? Eczema, allergies, and asthma are often linked. I'd suggest asking the doctor if there is a possibility if the eczema is being caused by an allergy if you can't already. Try cutting your son's exposure to the top allergens that are easy to avoid, like nuts, latex, shellfish. That means eliminating them from your diet and home and having all caregivers wash their hands after handling these things, since he is too young to be eating or touching these things on his own yet. Other common allergens are wheat / gluten, eggs, soy, and milk, but those are much harder to eliminate, and probably not worth the effort with first talking to a doctor.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

When you use the cortisone cream instead of stopping it when the flare up has gone wean him off it.Use the cream until the eczema is controlled and then use it every other day for a while and then every two days until he is weaned from it as I know it can pop back up worse if it is stopped all of a sudden give your doctor a call ask him if that is OK for your son.I agree with the person who suggested the emergency room my son was hospitalised with eczema they used wet wraps, antihistamines and steroid creams to get him comfortable and gave me lots of advice.Eczema can get painful and the itch is infuriating for them so don't feel bad taking him there he is so young and eczema can get infected.

Is it something you are using on him? Maybe it got worse due to his lotion, or detergent. Lots of things can make eczema flare up. It could also be the heat. Call the dermatologist and say, my son is miserable. We either need an appointment in the next day or so, or you need to call something into a pharmacy for me. If you call and are very determined to get him in, they will get him in. It could be his lotion, shampoo or body wash. Good luck.

It is fine. She will just get her 2 month shots at 4 months and her 4 month shots at 6. Normally infants get their immunizations at 2, 4, 6, 9, and 12 months. So she might just be behind for a bit but as long as she gets them all before starting kindergarten she's just fine. I don't think going out of town matters unless it meant out of the country. As for being late to the appt. my doctor would do the same. It is disrespectful because if she is on time so should you be. And if you are late then other people who were on time won't get in when they made their appts. So just remember next time to give yourself PLENTY of time.

Maybe try the emergency room? This sounds bad. There is no time for an appointment, take him to see a doctor ASAP.
