If your name is Muhammad, can you have your picture taken or a caricature drawn?

Just curious, does this law apply to everybody named Muhammad or just the original. And if it is allowed for everybody except the original, how do you know that anybody who draws Muhammad is drawing the original and not you or a fictional version?

It's not "in stone" that it is a sin to picture Muhammad. It's just "in" at the moment among a lot of Muslims to think so. There are many depictions of Muhammed.

In a couple decades or centuries, it might come back into fashion to for Muslims to picture Mohammed.
