For an album choice The Kinks - The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society.

My favourite by far though is a 'song cycle' (I love that term is sounds all Elizabethan) called 'Confessions', a collaboration by Nico Muhly and Teitur. Muhly is a classical composer from Vermont/New York, and Teitur is indie pop from the Faroe Islands. The three tracks are music set to the most mundane vids to be found on You Tube. Some of the lyrics where taken from the comments that were posted on You Tube. Cars driving down lonely highways, Sushi bars and Barista coffee art. Their music provides an alternative story to what the video portrays and work on the notion that the majority of what people post on the web is nearly always a confession of some sort. I'm sounding a right @rse here aren't I?

Also, the BQE by Sufjan Stevens. An instrumental and accompanying 8mm film shot by Stevens of the Brooklyn Expressway. It's quite harsh in places but interesting none the less.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6sRXCLVyoc&feature...

Best is a tie between Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness(the last good Smashing pumpkins album) and Coheed and Cambria's entire discography which is one large canon for the armory wars universe.

As far as the worst concept album goes, I think it was 21st Century Breakdown by Green Day, I LOVE the album, but it is not a very good concept album, I couldn't even understand the story they were trying to tell. At a certain point I just stopped caring and enjoyed the songs as standalones!

Interesting question. I'm sure I will forget some that I ought to mention.

    My favorites:

    "Imaginos" -Blue Oyster Cult

    "Motor Booty Affair" -Parliament

"The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust" by David Bowie

    Honorable mentions:

"Ogden's Nut Gone Flake" -Small Faces

"Thick As A Brick"- Jethro Tull

    "Animals"- Pink Floyd

I don't want to spend time discussing things I don't like.

    Operation Mindcrime - Queensryche

    Time - ELO

    and of course...

    The Wall - Pink Floyd

  • I will say....

Quadrophenia - the Who. The best Classic rock album. of all of them. I never really cared for the Wall. but i can't deny its standing power

Worst? I believe Vanilla Ice's "To the Extreme" was supposed to be centered around creating the awful sounds of Hell.

'Operation : Mindcrime' by Queensryche is the greatest concept album of all time, IMO. I even think that it surpasses Pink Floyd's 'The Wall'.

    The best:

    Nostradamus by Judas Priest

Greatest, in my opinion, would be The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Worst, in my opinion, is probably Six:A.M.'s Herion Diaries one, of the top of my head.

Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son. What sort of question is this?

And the worst? Has to be something by Green Day.
