If Jesus came to remove the sins of this world?

1) Why is there still sin in the world?

2) How is it that certain sins (1 Cor 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.) are mentioned AFTER Jesus was crucified carrying the sins of the world on his shoulders? Paul was talking to the CHURCH with his reminder here, not unbelievers, but believers.

    1) There is still sin in the world because men still have free will.

    2) These are mentioned as occurring before a believer's redemption. Read on to 6:11: And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

    People's sins don't disappear. When we are saved we get set free from the slavery to sin. We no longer practice sin. We now practice righteousness. That does not mean you will never sin again or God won't see your again, but it means you no longer are living the lifestyle of sin. We now are doing good, being righteous, most of the time instead of sinning most of the time. Before we were slaves to sin. We could not break from it. We were bound to sin. But now we have the power of God in our lives to overcome the urge to sin.

    BUT we can still backslide and start to practice sin again. If we do we lose salvation:

    Hebrews 10:26 - For if we sin willfully (as opposed to sins committed inconsiderately, and from ignorance or from weakness) after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins. ~ Note: The phrase there no longer remains means that they did once have the sacrifice for sins. So this is about former Christians. This next Scripture also proves it, because it shows the person was sanctified by the blood of Jesus Christ. But it implies a worse punishment because of falling back into sin.

    Hebrews 10:29 - Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified (note: this person was saved, see, he had been sanctified) a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? ~ Note: It's a much worse punishment for the backslider who does not repent. You will see that in 2 Peter 2:20,21. The word for thought worthy also means deserving. The word for trample... underfoot also means to treat with rudeness and insult, to spurn, treat with insulting neglect. So don't insult and neglect Christ, who set you free from the bondage of sin, by willfully sinning again; or else you will deserve to have a worse punishment.

    Your Biblical knowledge is limited and your interpretation is off. Jesus didn't come to "remove" the sins of the world, but to take the punishment for the sins. Nowhere in the Bible does Jesus claim to remove sin from the world. Many places (after Christ's death) in the Bible support that "...no one is righteous, not one..." (book of Romans also written by Paul). Paul was saying that we cannot earn heaven by being righteous, nor can we expect to be saved by acting unrighteous. Many times in the Bible Paul says we have to humble ourselves and accept that we can do nothing without God. Read the 6th, 7th, and 8th chapters of Romans to understand his message. Don't pick a few verses out of context though, and think you understand enough about my faith to criticize it. That would make you extremely naive.

    Because Satan is still in existence. God's plan is to eventually destroy him and his demons in the End Times in the Book of Revelation. But, this is why Christ died for us, so we'd have an out. God never said being a christian was going to be easy, and since God gave everyone free will, technically its up to each one to decide which path they are going to take. The catch is, depending on the path that person takes is what the consequences will be. There is no excuse for people to go down the wrong path and stay there, when the bible is there for them to read. If they have a chance to read it, but refuse after being introduced to it, then they've chosen their own fate. Sin is caused by people and their choices, not God. At least God gave us free will, without it, everyone wouldn't have had a choice at all, they'd ALL be in Hell. But, God didn't do that. He gave us a choice. But, we must face the consequences for that choice. We choose Satan, we choose Hell. We choose Christ, then we choose eternal life.

    The simple solution is that Jesus did not come to remove the sins of this world. He came to show the way to forgiveness of sins and everlasting life.

    To remove the sins of the world would require the abolition of free will, which is completely contrary to God's plan.

    There are still sinners in the world. There are people who haven't accepted Jesus as their savior. He forgives sin but He gives everyone a free will and we all have a sin nature.

    He takes away the punishment for sin (death) for those who believe in Him.

    He did not come to immediately establish paradise on Earth - that comes soon, but not yet.

    God isn't rude, and He won't force ANY body to obey Him. That would be tantamount to "spiritual rape"! Is that REALLY what you want God to be like? (It's only a reflection of your OWN inner attitudes, after all, when you expect some one else to be or do evil!)
