Redeemed sinner, grateful that it is God's gift to me, or I would never make it.
"The bible is fiction. All of it." Really? How deluded does one have to be to reach that conclusion?
It is manifestly evident that many passages of the Bible are historically proven, and totally factual.
Cast your doubts on miracles and spirituality if you must, but do not lose all reason!!!!
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoHas there been a big increase in the appeal to incredulity fallacies from atheists in recent weeks?
It appears so to me, but I would be interested to hear other (theists) opinions.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoFellow Christians, how often do you see this scripture borne out on YA R&S every day?
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
And does your heart ache that our atheist board members cannot comprehend?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoMost "Atheists" on YA R&S are GAY - True or .......?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIs it not totally dishonest to say "nothing in the Bible makes sense"?
Obvious liar is obvious.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy was enlightenment theology so unenlightened?
Full of a priori assumption, logical fallacy and preceding conclusions.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoHow do I get rid of this darn Recommended tab default?
Every time I go to category it defaults to the recommended questions rather than the usual list of open questions. Just happened today.
Bit frustrating!!!
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhen Josephus writes about the the brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, whose name was James, is this THE?
Jesus Christ whose brother was indeed called James?
Book 20, Chapter 9, 1 of the Antiquities
This text is not in dispute by scholars.
Of course Josephus is not quite contemporary with Jesus, but then we know that there are few to zero contemporary Judean writings, and none whatsoever from Roman sources.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAnyone have that list of contemporary Roman documents from Judea Ad 30-40?
that fail to mention Jesus?
Oh no, that's right, THERE AREN'T ANY!!
Lying for atheism is still lying.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoCan anyone explain Gödel's ontological proof in layman's terms?
Ok, I confess, it made my brain ache! ;-)
Any kind soul understand it? Refute it?
Thx.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoPaulus has me intrigued. Does anyone know of contemporary Ad 30-40 Roman writings from Judea?
I often see atheists saying: "There is no evidence for Jesus outside the Bible except from many years after his death. As there are so many Roman records from the time, isn't it strange that none mention Jesus."
BUT so far not one example has been given that fits into the time frame, the locale and the "Roman records" criteria.
Could it indeed be that actually there aren't any at all?
Anyone got anything that fits the bill?
To recap that is writings by Romans from AD 30-40 from Judea (Israel)
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhat are the main principles in Taoism?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIt's Friday 13th and Corinthians guy is back - perhaps it IS unlucky ;-)?
Several ids and the same old spamming.
Where's he been?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhat would be your one line definition of "evangelical"?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIf old testament is no longer relevant, the[n] murder and adultery are ok! -?
Does this atheist quote plumb the depths of atheist ignorance or what???
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAs Paul and John clearly teach that Jesus is the Creator, as per Genesis 1, how exactly is He not God?
"For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." Colossians 1:16-17
Even if you allow the unjustified JW addition of "other" to things, Jesus still created everything in creation. So God shared His creative acts with another, who was not God, yet still revealed that "in the beginning God created....." Hmmm, come on guys, do the math!!
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoSo God is plural in the OT from page 1 and the NT teaches that Jesus created all things?
So why do many "christian" sects struggle to join the dots up? You are being lied to. The "trinity" is NOT a 4th century construct - it is there throughout!!
"Let those who have any doubt whether אלהים Elohim, when meaning the true God, Jehovah, be plural or not, consult the following passages, where they will find it joined with adjectives, verbs, and pronouns plural.
"Gen 1:26 Genesis 3:22 Genesis 11:7 Genesis 20:13 Genesis 31:7, Genesis 31:53 Genesis 35:7. 19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoTrue or false: In the beginning Jesus created the Heavens and the Earth?
"Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." John 1:3
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoSince right from Chapter 1 verse 1 of The Bible God has revealed Himself as a plurality?
Why do so many people baulk against the idea? So the word Trinity is a latter day term, but the principle is there right from the get go. Open your hearts to the ONE God in all His fullness - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
In the beginning God....(Hebrew - Elohim) - do a study.
An eminent Jewish rabbi, Simeon ben Joachi, in his comment on the sixth section of Leviticus, has these remarkable words: "Come and see the mystery of the word Elohim; there are three degrees, and each degree by itself alone, and yet notwithstanding they are all one, and joined together in one, and are not divided from each other." He must be strangely prejudiced indeed who cannot see that the doctrine of a Trinity, and of a Trinity in unity, is expressed in the above words. The verb ברא bara, he created, being joined in the singular number with this plural noun, has been considered as pointing out, and not obscurely, the unity of the Divine Persons in this work of creation. In the ever-blessed Trinity, from the infinite and indivisible unity of the persons, there can be but one will, one purpose, and one infinite and uncontrollable energy
