Is it not totally dishonest to say "nothing in the Bible makes sense"?

Obvious liar is obvious.

Saying that NOTHING in there makes sense? Yes that is dishonest, or at least misguided. Some things in the bible do make sense. For example......well that was harder than I thought. It took me awhile but I finally found something.

Ruth 1:1 "Now it came to pass, in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land."

I don't doubt for a second that there was a famine back a few thousand years ago in the Middle East. Other than that? No, most of the bible does not make any sense at all.

Agnostic. I don't think I've seen too many people say that NOTHING in the bible makes sense, there are plenty that do say that a lot of the bible does not make sense. which seems to concede that some of it does make sense.

I agree with "3medals" on this, much of what is in the bible, especially in the actual teachings of Jesus (forget the "miracles"), that does make sense.

    Blessings on your Journey!

OK. To be specific Bible is the book of God where Jesus preaches how to reach God. When Jesus is considered God, if any contradictions arises it only means God the all knowing power hasn't had any part in it.

So if God didn't have any part in it and if some1 says its a book of God how does it make any sense.

Bible has loads of contradictions. Many unscientific things that has already been proved. Medival thinking ( Sun revolves around the earth ) and all the myths.

If it was a normal book and written by a normal human being who says its his book , might have made sense. Coz Harry Potter does, Tom and Jerry does. Comics do although they are all fictional.

But religion goes too far and says its a guide line which if not followed will land you in hell.

Well Just take a hike and go to hell. Who cares

Not at all. Nothing in the Bible makes any sense.

Obvious non-reader is obvious. Read your bible, it's violent and full of nonsense and contradictions.

I am secular and I like the teachings of Jesus and the parabals, there a lot of lessons there for Christian, Jew, Muslim, Athiest and people like me

But don't tell me the world was made in seven days, AAAAAAAAAAAASSaaaaaaaaaa

  • Of course. But saying "nothing about Christianity makes sense" sounds reasonable.

Those who wish to only see nonsense, will only see nonsense. They are not being dishonest, they are choosing what they want to believe.

    3medals,

Thank you for so elucidating the difference between an intelligent atheist and the others. Your view is refreshing in this site filled with people who are content in catch-phrasing their way to a belief in their own intellectual superiority via witless comments.

The bible is a book made 2000 years ago made with stolen material from religions that predated it by a long shot.. It was made to remove all spiritual powers so we can be enslaved:/ read exposingchristianity.com
