Is it just me or can the U.S. make a real run this year?

to quote kevin Garnett "Anything is possible" but I dont think we will win it and I say that as a die hard USA fan.

Nothing more then id like to see is for us to win it but we need to look better and have gooch at full strength to win

Yes they can. I think they can defeat both Ghana and South Korea. Uruguay would be a little difficult for them tho.

1 Uruguay

2 USA

3 Ghana

4 south Korea

Uruguay is a better team unless by a surprise Korea beat them yeah then U.S.A has a great chance but they had to win on ghana first which is not an easy match.

@Purple27 how does being fitter alone make you win in a football match that requires tactics/strategy and skills, it's not a modified rugby just to let you know.

As an England fan I was dissapointed not to win the group as its such a sweet run into the semi finals for the winner of the group. And the second place team has the hardest run of all.

(germany argentina spain and probably brazil not easy)

Usa have a real oppotunity to reach the semis (in fact im gonna put some money on it)

but i think Brazil could make fairly short work of them in the semis.

USA 4th

Can they make it to the final four...yes. This is a different level of play, no more defensive ties, no more mistakes or silly red card fouls. Anything is possible and USA can beat Ghana...but Ghana can beat USA as well.

My Guess.....USA beats Ghana 3-2

Uruguay beats South Korea 2-1

Uruguay is good defensively but showed a weakness.......deadball defense.....USA can take advanatage of this.

The USA earned the spot they have by making it easier to make a deep run. I am a Mexican fan and envy the spot USA has. Our coach decided that it was not important to avoid Argentina and face South Korea instead. So Mexico would have to beat Argentina and then Germany to reach the Semi's....ouch. Can Mexico do it...yes. Not with Aguirre's 37 year old friends starting.

I now have USA, Holland, Brasil and Germany in the final 4. Hard for me to type as a Mexico fan...but USA did what they had to do.

I think if you look at the last 20 minutes of each game the US team are the fittest so i think this is how they could progress to the last 4
