Yahoo answers - which member chooses best answers without showing any partiality?

i don't want to say any member in particular. i wish to you and thus, you can also know. Be brave, and render your service. Be plain. please answer. No one will mistake you. This is an indication to all to do good service only and not to point any. Be bold and answer with open heart.

if you find with my selection, i welcome your positive and negative answers. i will take it sportively and all others will also take it sportively.

Update:

i am not selecting best answer based on thumbsup and thumbsdown. i know the tricks since i am experienced in it. so, my dear members, please ignore both. i am reading answers and then only i decide.

    Favorite Answer

The answer is the voters for my questions.

    Edit

The names that immediately flashed in my mind are Thirumathi M.R., Thiru Veers, Poondi saab, Pujyasri Balavenkat and comrade Kevin, Travers , Thiru Bulls and 6000 year old Tamil Sri AALUNGA and sri Govarthan. and Dr. Swamy. and APRIL and Anil M and Mukund.

    EDIT

There may be several persons who are unbiased,in select answers as the best,. As i do not know them i am not mentioning their names.

These people choose answers which give authentic information as the best answers.

My voters always choose the best answers by voting.

Not even a single bad answer for my questions was chosen as the best

As most of my questions are meant to provide some information to all people, i put them for voting.

If we select the answers for questions which are meant to educate people regarding health, philosophy, psychology ,if we select one of the answers as the best, several people would be deprived of the good answers given to that question.

I use this social network with an intention to learn not earn points as there is no point in acquiring points which are of neither material nor spiritual value, and i feel if others at the time of voting will also get benefited.

In case i did not get good answers, i myself delete that question ,but do not compromise with bad answers.

Personally i prefer the answers of the people who have some authority on the subject

.I have feelings of aversion towards some people who simply do cut, copy and paste job from Google, without mentioning the source.

I prefer the people's answers who take lot of pain in answering my question .

THOSE PEOPLE'S ANSWERS HAVE THE SIGNATURE OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND THE LABOUR THEY PUT IN.

After a keen observation, i came to know that even if we give good answers, some people do not select them as the best due to some prejudices, ideological differences .

so i stopped answering the questions posted by those people.

My firm belief is the questions that are asked in polls and surveys should be put for voting after six hours of it is posted or one of the answers be selected as the best by the questioner

The reason is when we conduct a survey , we should not have prejudices or biased opinions.

In polls and surveys, if we put a question means, we want to know the pulse of the people. Here the random sample is not bulk.

For example, if we want to know which Brand of T.V. is the best and put a question. We may not get more than 50 answers.

By putting the question for voting, we can know the pulse of hundreds of people(.Methodology, psycho physics and learning by M.R.D'AMATO)

some people just ask questions and are least bothered to go through the answers for their questions and they are automatically put for voting by yahoo team and as a result, i found people who have 2 or 3 ids vote for their own answers as the best.

As the shelf life of yahoo answers is limited only to 6 hours, people would not show any inclination for voting.

If a question is put for voting immediately, i mean after 4 hours for yahoo international and 9 hours for yahoo India, the chances of voting by cheaters are less as they can not spend their whole time before system to vote for a single question.

At the cost of repetition, i reiterate that my committed voters are the best people in choosing best answers

    EDIT

Why most of the answers for my questions are good?

because, the regular contributors like Haritha, Veers, Sri vidya, Poondi, M.S, Cavassi, Dr. Rosen, Dr. J. swamy , Don't call me dude, and others to my questions do possess knowledge and give balanced answers.

If i don't get good answers, sometimes i email to people who have knowledge in the subject and request them to respond to my questions.

To answer MR' questions, i had to gather much information and sometimes take two days time and i always felt my labour got rich dividends.

Though i differ ideologically, i know if i put good efforts, the questioners recognize the efforts put by me and select my answer as the best.

Yendaro mahanubhavulu andariki vandanalu.( salutes to several good people)

Red salute to my comrades who gave thumbs down to my answer .

Had this question been posted in psychology, the answer would have been different.

Most of the people are biased and they select the answers which are in line with their ideology, their views only,

As long as we subscribe to the opinions of the questioners, our answers are treated as the best. When we start questioning the beliefs and ideology of our dearest contacts we will cease to be blue eyed boys/ girls.

sorry, i do not like to give sugar quoted answer like i always be impartial and i feel, if anybody says, he is deceiving himself/herself

The nature of human being is always attempting to accepting the views of ours and having skeptical view of others.

The reason is we are yet to get rid of i am only OK and you are not OK.

THANKS FOR FLOATING SUCH A THOUGHT PROVOKING QUESTION.

    EDIT

There is one theory in psychology known as "halo effect"

for example, if we are impressed by the performance of a person who is interviewed by us, we automatically recruit him. Even if he gives only two good answers , for the first two questions asked by us, he creates an impression in our minds that he is the best candidate.

People should choose a best answer and qualify their choice in the comments section. I think some people ask so many questions they sometimes forget to follow through. It would be nice if the YA computer program could automatically generate a reminder. It would help a lot don't you think? Some people are really not asking for objective answers. They want validation. Out of paranoia or and an unwillingness to consider other opinions, these types are always going to pick the answer that most resembles their own views.

I choose the answer that best answer's the question. Concise. Regardless of grammar because there are a lot of peeps on here that don't have the best of education but have a great heart and insight equal to those of us who were more fortunate in obtaining an education.

If my question is one that warrants more opinion, I will choose a best answer based on a person's ability to state their argument with supporting opinion, documentation, etc so long as the answer is plausible.

I ignore thumbs down and thumbs up totally. There are so many fly by nights in YA that have little points and little opinion who are here to be funny, mean, nasty, or just want points. It's comical at times to see the first 5 answer's sporting all "thumbs down" and then the sixth one has either a thumbs up or nothing. Following, all the answer's have a thumbs down. So obvious, don't you think?

And personally, I feel that although grammar is important- for one to judge a person by their grammar and/or make mention of a person's grammar is rude. I have seen many a young person who's writing is atrocious and several YA peeps blast their grammar. I give a sincere answer and many times, these young people have contacted me via email to thank me for not judging and for giving them good advice.

Thank you for the question and giving me an opportunity to relieve my irritation with those who try to manipulate the questioners opinion of whom is the best!

    Nana

  • Every Sincere answer is a best answer. But only one can be chosen as per Guidelines in case of multiple best answers.

The same object appears differently from different view points. It does not mean that one view is wrong and other view is right. If the questioner's view point and answerer view point matches, it wins. thats all. There is nothing in loosing best answer status.

    Be Sportive Really!

  • How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.
  • It is human tendency to go with the answer that matches with ones view that I totally understand. I would not expect anyone to be 100% unbiased. But at the minimum the users should select good answers as best answers. Users should make good decision while selecting the answers as best answers.

@geymala ji, don't worry about TDs, those are part of life on this forum, I enjoy them. When I get too many TDs, I I am very happy because I know, I attracted many users towards my answers, they may not agree but at least they were attracted and they read my answer.

Thanks for acknowledging my efforts, I really appreciate it.

The only thing I'm 'partial' to is decent grammar.

I choose Best Answer based on the information given and how helpful the answer was. If I'm stuck between 2 great answers, the one with better grammar and spelling gets it.

Myself :) and of course you too .... otherwise i wouldn't have got best answers from you .You can check my questions but in P&S i gave some best answers to people who share my views. In all other sections the best of all answers is the best answer for my question.

  • 1 decade ago

    Well!!!!!!!!!

I feel that nobody is purely impartial..

Everyone (including myself) has a tendency towards favourism to those who support our views...

We can find the degree of partiality very negligible only in few areas like S&M...

In few sections, (like R&S) the partiality degree is very high!!
