What are good things to put on your wedding registry?

I have been living on my own for three years, so I have all the basics like plates, silverware, etc. What should I put on the registry then?

    Bedding

    Home furnishings

    Small appliances

    Entertainment and Dining ware

And if you really have everything, don't have a registry.

    Things that you actually need.

    Home furnishings

Home Decor (picture frames, mirrors, pictures, candles, etc).

    Bedding

    Towels

Dishes to entertain with (nicer china, goblets, etc)

Small kitchen electrics if you need them (electric frying pan, skillet, blender, toaster if you need them).

Remember these rules of thumb for a registry:

Only put items of things that you actually need.

Do not make a wishlist of things you want to upgrade.

Keep prices reasonable and different price levels.

Never register for a item that you wouldn't be willing to buy for someone else.

Also, there is no rule that you have to have a registry. I have everything I need as I live on my own as well and .. I'm not having a registry since I do not need anything.

I agree with the others, linens would be good. A fresh set of sheets, more towels are something you would want for a new life. And your new hubby would appreciate. Ask for two washcloths with every towel, they wear out faster than th towel.

Ask for fun things that you do not have, things like an ice cream maker, or a popcorn popper.

Now that you will be marrying, will you be entertaining more? Pick out things for that, a chip and dip server, a cake or cupcake stand, a lemonade pitcher with glasses. Bigger serving plates for chicken drummies, or appetizers.

Will you be hosting family holidays and get togethers now? Ask for a turkey platter, a big meat plate, a soup tureen, a large gravy boat, big glass casserole ovenware with a carrier. I have a rectangular one with a wicker basket, and another round one with a lid that has a metal server that it fits into. No burnt fingers that way. Heart shaped or square or round cake pans would come in handy for birthdays and anniversaries.

I love my Tupperware storage stuff, especially the 13x9 cake carrier, I have used it to carry lots of things that are not cake. My round straight sided big bowl with a lid makes really pretty portable salads.

Luxury or decorative items like a spice rack, or a tea service, or a cute cookie jar, a fondue set.

My sister had some deluxe towels and bedding on her myregistry.com account and a kitchen aid mixer for her baking needs (she makes the best gingerbread! and oatmeal raisin cookies!) I think they had silverware but already had china so they did not include this. Instead, they included a cash gift fund (actually really tasteful) for their honeymoon trip and a lot of guests opted for this. You should definitely feel free to add what you want/need rather than the "norm" :)

It used to be that people only put household items on the registry, but there's no rule against putting on things you want other than dishes and such. You can put a tv, video games, etc. Whatever you want to get. It's completely up to you and there's not really a rule about it.

as quickly as we did our 2 registries - Macys and objective, I opted to place alot of the common issues yet did the nicer manufacturers - like OXO kitchen gadgets, etc. issues that have been lifelike if a individual ought to basically spend $30 or so, yet a it larger end so as that they could final longer. you will think of of issues alongside the way, it is why its impressive to bypass to the save and do the preliminary registry, and then regulate it on line later. I messed with mine continuously whilst i considered issues, or observed that some thing grew to become into offered and took issues off, etc. i could only walk up and down the aisles and click on any factor you may elect. you could continuously take stuff off and upload issues if interior the top you notice which you have not got a good budget of things. in my view - we've been given 2 spice racks and used neither of them! We use alot of spices in our meals, yet that stuff sat there and sat there for 2 years. In my techniques they're kindof a waste of area, yet it is only me. i will discover lots extra issues i could rahter register for.

GOOD knives (Wustof, Shun, etc). Yes, they are expensive, but they are soooo worth it!

    Kitchenaid stand mixer

    towels

    sheets (300+ thread count)

    Clothes steamer

Camping equipment (if you like camping)

    Down comforter

    Picture frames

Even though you have "the basics", you can always upgrade those things.

Towels. Really nice towels. You can put things you already have on there, but better quality. You can even return them (:D)

Um.. blankets, sheets, kitchen stuff that you really want. Vacuum cleaners, suitcases, rugs, outdoorsie stuff. Just whatever you want really!

Anything and everything you've ever wanted to buy at the store you are registering at. If you get it GREAT! if no oh well. The more you have on the list the more people have to choose from.
