I have verizon DSL and it loses the internet connection all the time for no apparent reason, is this typical?

I have rechecked my modem/router settings and all is fine. I have been a tech for more than a couple of decades. so I feel fairly confident when I say this recurring issue appears to be happening outside of my home network. I Just want to hear from other verizon dsl customers whether this happens frequently or not.

I had a similar issue with my AT&T DSL service. Started happening a couple of days before I moved and since I was busy packing I didn't spend too much time resolving it.... . If you already covered the obvious, I would replace the DSL filters (not sure if this will help). Take a closer look at the modem or router and if you leased it, see if Verizon will replace it.... As far as how often does it happen to Verizon customers.. couldn't tell you myself, but I was hoping that my response maybe helpful...

I have had Qwest DSL for three years and I have it on at least half of every day, and it has never lost the connection. Never.

    Go to this web page...

    http://www.dslreports.com/tools

and start with the "Line Quality Testing". And if that's OK, which I doubt, do the "Tweak Test" and then "Dr TCP". Incidently, there's lots of good info on the dslreports page. The Reviews page has a lot of user reviews of DSL vendors which you may find very useful.

If the Line Quality fails, then it's ATT's problem.

i think there is a few thing incorrect inclusive of your modem.you may desire to purchase a clean one. it quite is complicated to diagnose the community challenge while you at the instant are not familiar with it.you may attempt community computer screen, it quite is an somewhat useful kit for professional or brisker.

I really doubt that is typical but consider this, are you paying a bill every month to get bad service lol? call them up and tell them to fix it asap.
