I have verizon DSL and it loses the internet connection all the time for no apparent reason, is this typical?
I have rechecked my modem/router settings and all is fine. I have been a tech for more than a couple of decades. so I feel fairly confident when I say this recurring issue appears to be happening outside of my home network. I Just want to hear from other verizon dsl customers whether this happens frequently or not.
4 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoDo you think there is life on Mars or Europa? (or any Jovian satellites for that matter)?
I want to know if anyone out there thinks we will find life elsewhere in our own solar system. I am already convinced life exists elsewhere in the universe, I am just curious it anyone is convinced we will find it in our own neighborhood or not. I have higher hopes for Europa than Mars myself.
6 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoDeath Penalty For Rape?
Who, besides me, thinks that an adult should get the death penalty for raping a child under the age of 12? I say under the age of 12 because that is the new ruling they are deciding for a supreme court case. Personally, I believe that raping any child of any age is worthy of the death penalty. Now I am not talking about the 22 year old that slept with the willing 17 year old. I am talking about the middle aged person that raped an 8 year old.
Raping a child is unforgivable. It is pure evil and the world is a much better place without these people. I am a supporter of the death penalty obviously, but child rape is the only non-homicide crime I can see having the death penalty for. I know this question has been posed a couple of times already, but I would like to know if you support or not and why you feel that way, not just yes or no.

3 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoPoor Paris Hilton???
Okay, let me see if I have this right. Paris was arrested for DUI while on probation for DUI and not supposed to be driving. So now they are going to give her some jail time. Now from what I have been reading, they already knocked time off of her sentence for "good behavior" and they considered just that she showed up on time for her last court appearance as part of that "good behavior". What the hell is up with that?!!? If we didn't show up for court, we would get hauled away. She shows up and gets time off. She seems like the type of self serving twit who would not learn her lesson until she killed someone while DUI. I am glad she got jail time, she earned it, and like everyone else in the world, she should be punished for her actions.
Does anyone actually think she is being treated even remotely like the rest of us on this?
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoretroactive disability check?
My brother was disabled a while back and applied for disability. It took them almost 2 years to finally approve him. The lawyer was paid almost immediately. He has been waiting since January for his retroactive check. The lawyer already got paid so basically won't do anything to help now. Disability keeps telling him he will get it eventually. Is there anything he can do to expedite this? Does this normally take 6 months to get the retroactive check? Do they have a time limit to sending this check? Any information would be good so I can give him some good news. He has been in rough financial shape since losing his job and having almost no income for almost 2 years. He lost his house, both cars and motorcycles because he could not afford them. He has completely screwed his back up. He paid into disability since he was working since he was 15. Are they really that backed up at social security, or they just can't be bothered to hurry?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoI did not go to Disney with the family?
I hate riding in planes. I hate crowds. I hate lines. Amusement park rides don't do much for me. I took my wife and kids to disney a few years back. I did not enjoy myself at all. So this time around, I stayed home and paid for my adult niece to accompany my wife and kids. Am I a stinker for not going back there again. I mean, I did take them the first time even though I knew I would hate it, and I did. It all just seems like such a commercialism filled money pit.
I do lots of stuff with my kids, it isn't that I don't want to do things with them. I take them to museums, day trips, shell hunting on the beach, build a bear for the daughter, etc, etc, etc.. I have taken them to local fairs here and there. I still hate places like that though.
So.. I didn't go back to Disney a second time because I knew it would be like throwing away my 25% of the trip cost. My niece loved it. I missed the kids terribly, and they missed me, but like I said, I do a lot with them!
7 AnswersFamily1 decade agoI really want to test my new computer's graphics?
If I had to choose any certain game for having a lot of intense graphics, what would it be? I know I could get some applications that would scrutinize and analyze my cards features and power, but I just want to see it in action in an actual game that has absolutely mind blowing graphics requirements.
