Mini Fridge Will Not Get Cold?

I recently bought a used mini fridge off of craigslist two weeks ago. It was working great even keeping ice frozen. But the other day i opened it up and everything was warm. And now i hear the compressor running and everything and the knob is turned up to level 9. But i cannot figure out what is wrong with this thing? Can anyone help?

Update:

another thing is that i touched the compressor with my hand after having it on for an hour and its hot. is that a sign of a bad compressor?

Make sure there is an area of ventilation at the back of it. If the condenser section heats up, the supplied air will too.

Hot compressor? Not necessarily bad. Are the copper lines warm? if you can reach them. And the blower is working?

Mini fridge manufacturers provide guidelines on how to use ur mini fridge so that it cools properly. Use these guidelines to address mini fridge cooling problems. Instructions 1. Keep ur mini fridge in an area away from direct sunlight n heat sources like stoves n heaters. Do not use it in areas where the temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit or above about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Extreme high or low temperatures can affect the inside temperature of ur mini fridge. 2. Plug the mini fridge's power cord into a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet to ensure it gets the proper amount of electrical current. Do not use an extension cord with ur mini fridge. 3. Wait 2 to 3 hours for the mini fridge to cool down after first turning it on. Some mini fridge manufacturers recommend placing the fridge's thermostat at the coldest setting while it cools and then turning it down to a medium setting once cooling is achieved. Do not place anything into the refrigerator until it has cooled sufficiently. 4. Keep the mini fridge door closed as much as possible. Opening the door frequently affects the internal temperature of the mini fridge. When closing it, make sure the door is completely closed. If the doors not closed properly apply alittle bit of Vaseline on the inner line off the door where it closes. 5. Give the mini fridge time to cool down after placing large amounts of warm food or liquids inside it. Check the mini fridge after a few hours to see if it has cooled. If not, try setting the temperature to a colder setting and turn it back down to the previously selected setting after a few hours when it is sufficiently cold.

Mini fridges are notorious (in my experience) for dying at an early age. In most cases, the cost to have it repaired would be almost as much as buying a new one. If it didn't work properly from the time you bought it, you should have returned it to the store. If it's still under a manufacturer's warranty, you might be able to contact them for repair/replacement. Look at the back of the fridge for any Model/serial numbers, and contact information, or check your owner's manual, if you still have it. I couldn't find a website for Chefmate appliances.

Sometimes these thermostats may look like it is on 9 but it's just the opposite so adjust mid way to see if that helps. Since they don't have cooling fans, very seldom do the coils get very dirty. If the compressor is running continuously and not cooling, chances are the refrigerant has leaked out.

It may be the thermostat (the piece with the knob on it). It should be easy to disconnect and replace by ordering from amazon, etc. Should be around $10.

    I think it depends
