I have compound heterozygous MTHRF meaning I have one copy of each mutation. My reproductive endocrinologist (who also has MTHFR) has me on low dose aspirin (81mg) and as well as prescribed folic acid with B6 and B12 vitamins (Folgard) that I need to remain on it the rest of my life. I have met several women who have MTHFR as well each of them take the low dose aspirin and the Folgard (or a generic form of it). If I conceive, I will need to be on Lovenox or Heparin as well. These are both blood thinners that you need to inject daily. According to Dr. Beer (a world-leading reproductive immunologist), one who has MTHFR needs to take low dose aspirin as well as 2.2 mg of Folgard for each copy of the mutation and Lovenox or Heparin during pregnancy. Do you know what type of MTHFR you have? MTHFR mutations come in two forms: A1298C and C677T. If you have one copy of one mutation, you are "heterozygous for A1298C" or "heterozygous for C677T". If you have one of each, you are "compound heterozygous for MTHFR mutations". If you have two copies of one mutation, you are "homozygous for A1298C" or "homozygous for C677T". It is also recommended if you do get pregnant you get your homocysteine levels checked during pregnancy as MTHFR can cause them to elevate causing miscarriage.
I have not had success yet as IVF is my only options to conceive but hopefully my next cycle is a success. I do, however, know several women who did have luck with Lovenox or Heparin. Not sure if you are interested but I belong to fertilethoughts.com and met a lot of women there with MTHFR and other immune related disorders. Check it out if you are interested!
ETA: I have a copy from my mother and one from my father as well. You'll need the 4.4 mg of Folgard then.
Good luck!!

After having 2 miscarriages I actually found out that I do have MTHFR. My dr. told me that while you are not pregnant you will need to take 2 extra milligrams of folic acid a day and then when you want to try to start getting pregnant start taking your prenatals and up it to 4 extra milligrams of folic acid a day, so that's what I have done and so far my baby is expected to be a healthy normal baby.

seems such as you have MTHFR. i do no longer think of people are in basic terms vendors of it if I understand wisely. in case you have it then you definately've all that is going with it. I certainly have an identical gene mutation- component V Leiden. I certainly have one reproduction of the gene. I certainly have 2 toddlers. the two are very healthful. and that they have been my purely conventional pregnancies. in spite of the fact that, in my 26 week I had a DVT with my first new child. it quite is how my illness became stumbled on. i became on Lovenox injected blood thinner two times on a daily basis for something of the being pregnant till the final 2 weeks. Then Heparin injections for 2 weeks. I had a failed induction at 38 weeks that ended with a c-area. yet she became born completely healthful. My 2d new child is purely approximately a million. i became on as quickly as on a daily basis Lovenox along with her then Heparin on the tip. C-area at 39 weeks. She is healthful besides. i could attempt to ascertain your surgeon ASAP. via fact MTHTR will develop your possibility for miscarriage, and a DVT. so which you pick some help purely before later. You surgeon could purely positioned you on a new child aspirin as quickly as on a daily basis or greater desirable folic acid (thins the blood) and then computer screen you heavily. Or your surgeon could pick you to do the Lovenox and or Heparin injections. in case you have any questions be happy to touch me and that i'll attempt to help. Take care. and attempt to no longer difficulty. there are a number of individuals available with clotting themes. And with stable scientific care many individuals do exactly superb.
