why is it that the bible basicly says live and let live yet christians say obey our way or be criticzed?

Well, the people who founded most of the organized

Christian religions seem to have merely made use of

the popularity of Jesus to build an empire of power and

wealth for themselves... they burned other people's

temples, killed people, passed laws to restrict religious

freedom, etc.

That worked for a long time, when they were able to

control the history books and cover up their dirt... but

as more and more people today are discovering the

true history of their religion, it's starting to become a

real problem for them.

I live in a place a lot like that. People say that i should believe in what they believe in, and when i tell them that i won't they get angry. I have lost many friends this way. But i wont change my religion.

I saw that their were many of you that said jesus did not say "live and let live". I don't think that the person asking the question meant that literally and i think most you know that to. You just wanted something to complain about because you don't really have an answer to this question. Jesus did say to "go and make more disciples", but he most certainly did not say to tell someone that they have to believe in him or you will criticize and harass them until they move away or feel that they can't even go out their own front door without being bombarded with scriptures from the bible. (for those of you that wouldn't be able to understand, i wasn't being literal about the front door thing) I

would also like to point out that Catholicism is just one of the many unnecessary forms of christianity.

Oh, come on! Don't be a baby! EVERYONE criticizes people who don't have views the same as their own! Seriously! How do you think we ended up with more than one political party?

The Bible does not say live and let live. God is about love. I don't plan on going out and shoving Jesus in anyone's face because he didn't behave or do that. Yet, I don't have to shut up and keep quiet about Him either. I have the freedom of speech in this country to talk about my faith and I will do it. If someone wants to listen, great, of not, their choice. But why should I go hide in a closet because I believe in Jesus, when there are other people out there doing destruction and supporting it, and they certainly are not hiding it.

The bible does NOT teach "live and let live". That is NOWHERE in the Bible. The Bible teahcesIt teaches "Live God's Way, or spend eternity in Hell"

NOBODY get criticized. ALL get instructed in the proper way to live. if not by a Christian or a Jew, then by God Himself

Perhaps you should check what the Bible actually says!

Jesus said - go forth and make disciples.

He did not say 'live and let live'.

Even worse, Christians have often said, "Obey our way or be tortured to death."
