All intelligence is independent in the sphere in which God has placed it.

Your point is well taken, praise to God.

If I ride in a car with someone, and I navigate and tell them where to go, how fast to drive, when to get gas, when to slow down, when to stop, etc. then I most certainly should be able to take credit for arriving at my final destination.

Can you really claim you've reached your destination if you just sit there in the boat?

    Sure I can.

You can put the boat in the water and point it downstream and I can use the oar to turn it around and row upstream or to the other side.

Yes you can if you've chosen to board the boat.
