Do you allow people to eat in your car?

I was in my friends car once and had a sandwich I wanted to eat cuz I was hungry and I think the mayo was rather warm. It a mercedes suv. He saw me and said, "please put that away man, I don't want people eating in my car."

Understandable, I respect other people's property most of the time. But I kept wondering, maybe it depends on the value of he car. I always eat fast food in my old corolla. Smells alright. Looks alright.

No food or drink is allowed in the car. Food and drink was allowed in the car but has since been banned. The reason? We have two small children and I'm the one who has to clean the car and I got fed up clearing up half eaten sandwiches, crushed crisps and half melted sweets etc.

Since the ban, no problems. Oh, the car is nearly 7 years old but this has got nothing to do with it.

I would say it depends on the person, not the car. Some people are very neat and still wouldn't want you eating in their older/cheaper car. As a rule of thumb, I'd say ask if it's alright before you begin eating any food in anyone's car.

If it's a newer car or Muscle Car I can see why they wouldn't allow you to eat in their car. However, if it's a little bit old, I think they just don't want to clean up your mess or have to look at it. I think it's alright to eat candy, water ice, french fires, you know things like that. I would never eat a cheesesteak, taco, or have a plate of lasagna in my car or anyone else's car because they can get messy or you would need to table.

As long as it's not terribly messy, I don't mind eating it in my car. Something like a sandwich would be fine with me. But some people don't allow eating in their car at all, and I can respect that too.

Well, my car blew up. But before it did, I let people do pretty much anything in it... it was a 94 Civic, and while the interior wasn't in bad shape at all, it was used enough that I really didn't mind any additional stains. I'd already stained and burned it a couple times myself anyway. I mean, I knew I was never going to trade it in or sell it - just drive it until it blew up. Which it did. :(

Some people are just pathetic lol. I don't mind people eating in my car (bear in mind I keep it quite clean and tidy), but if someone spills something on the seat, I get annoyed but at the end of the day, you can always get the hoover out lol.

depends on the age and responsibility of the person. if you are under 15...theres no way youre eating in my car. if youre a messy eater, get the hell out. i'll stop at a park we can go to a restaurant i dont care-but i'm not vacuuming my car more than i have to. i hate vacuuming my car lol. and i dont want things that are sticky all over my car. if youre trying to eat a juicy peach...i dont care how old you are. get out. lol i have a 94 saturn and i hate it. but i dont want to clean up a mess if i dont have to.

When my car was new, I refused to let anyone eat in it. After I had it for a few years it really wasn't an issue, as long as everyone didn't make a mess and threw out their own trash.

I allow them to eat in the car, because my friends are responsible people who will not make a mess. So as long as they won't spill crumbs all over the car.

    Sure.

Just for you know, I'm a neat freak. I used to forbid everyone who wants to have a meal on my room. But I think it's not reasonable, because I can clean it later. Beside that I always say to my friend or everyone, that they have to clean or be responsible for the stains, trashes, etc.
