Chess Rating 1439 with a Glicko RD: 80, is that good?

I play a lot of internet chess, And I'm not sure about the glicko ratings. i know the lower it is, the more accurate your rating is. but on a scale, what does 80 represent?

Update:

This is my profile on chess.com FYI. http://www.chess.com/echess/profile/chainman1

Update 2:

I guess my question is more about the glicko rating, and what part of the scale it represents. I know lower is better, but I dont know where 80 falls into it.

Update 3:

I guess my question is more about the glicko rating, and what part of the scale it represents. I know lower is better, but I dont know where 80 falls into it.

Update 4:

Again, I'm more asking about the glicko rating and where "80" is on the scale.

The RD is a measure of how accurate your rating is. The math term is variance. An RD 80 indicates your rating of 1439 is actually somewhere between 1152 and 1726. Which translates to, your 1439 rating is not really very accurate. You might be allot weaker or allot stronger, we don't know. Someone who knows very little of the game of chess beyond how the pieces move can achieve a rating in the 1100's. Someone rated in the 1700's would have a firm gasp of basic idea's in chess, such as space, the center, pawn structure. Ratings 1600 - 1700 would also have an understanding of basic opening theory, know a few openings and variations ie, Ruy Lopez, Queen's Gambit, or Sicilian. Their middle game and end game technique would be weaker, but at least some concepts would be understood, such as the power of the passed pawn or where to place a rook.

Personally, if I were you, I wouldn't think of myself as 'good' until I had a rating over 2000.

1439 is pretty good...your next step is getting membership in the U.S.C.F.
