And do you love to view faded photographs? C/C?

(an exercise in setting a mood)

Day Bloom

The bloom of day is distant now

a whitewashed haze clouds my vision

gray toning those colors vibrant

like faded photographs recalled.

My mind carries a graveyard now,

the gray of years accumulates much.

File folders of those who passed on,

my ongoing memorial.

Darkness has such a lure to some

aging now, I see it calling.

Life’s erosion, stripping the steel

leaving…. vulnerability.

Do I pop a pill….smile a lot

or randomly wander along

like my gray words penned on this page?

The bloom of day so distant now.

I will ponder….

It varies from 8 beats to 9 but reads nicely. Fairly simple in expression and lacks a solid ending.

In answer to your question, yes I do. I also enjoyed the mood set by your poem. I am quite fascinated with the faded and old photographs in our family album. I have no wish to revive the colours, I like them just the way they are.

Your exercise has been very successful. A brooding, serious and nostalgic mood has been well set.

The tone is established by your final line and sets it apart from your mood. Clever writing.

You go, Van Gogh, well painted,

    and, Bocelli, so well sung;

your pen should see you sainted,

too, the words off that silvery tongue.

    Yes, Mario, well driven,

    And, Ansel!!!, what a shot,

the way you wield this gift you're given,

makes me glad it's you it's got!

    You've established a new level,

    to which we should all aspire;

for me, the mood is, clearly, revel,

and one, of which, I rarely tire!

So good...so good! T'anks for sharin'...an' good t'see ya again!

Good atmosphere! Colors are good for painting pictures....this one is a little gray.

Go forth a ponder, and maybe watch some History Channel. Ha, you've lived through most of it anyway. (insert an LOL here.)

A lesson in 8 syllable lines! Great!

Good Morning, and it is a good morning for there will be a day, as there will be many, many others!

Yes, you set a definite, explicit mood here....did it in softness that needed no shouting. No maudlin tones, just straightforward words to create this....

    BRAVO!

Many types of photographic software, incorporate an application to rejuvenate the colours and contrast of scanned photos, to bring them back to their original sharp condition. We have poems such as this, for that same purpose. Nice work Neon.

    After reading this

    I rolled my weary length

    opposite Brazil in HD

    gazed calmly at the grey

    of pigeons

    defying spikes on my ledge

    then dreamed of many dead

    elders and bottles

    of Geritol.

    .

    Thank you.

I do love looking at the old photos. It is a treasure. You feel the spirit of each one in them, many who speak through these pics from beyond the grave. We realize what gifts these people are to us.Each of them with their own "special flavor."Gosh, you're make me remember so many, thanks !You did set the mood.
