round 5.0955 cm to nearest hundredth?

I need to round 5.09555 centimeters to the nearest hundredth centimeter.

    5.10. You need the 0 to be in the hundredths, otherwise you're just in the tenths.

    The way I remember my decimal places is by thinking of the numbers as fractions. .1=1/10, which is one tenth so when a number is one place to the right of a decimal it is in the tenths place. .01=1/100 which is one hundreth, therefore making 2 places to the right of the decimal the hundreths place. So with rounding the rule is if the number directly to the right of the place you're rounding to is greater than or equal to 5 then you round your number one up, if not it remains the same. So in this situation the number in the hundreths place is 9 and the number right next to it is 5 so you round up to 10, now this is a bit tricky, but think of it this way, 10/100 is equal to 1/10 so you just move that 1 to the tenths place and leave a 0 in your hundreths place because it is the 0 of your 10. 5.10 is your answer.

    If its 50 or over you round up if its 49 or less you round down, So 2800
