What are these supposed special powers.?
In the same church (cousin joined it) I am told that they people of that church that do the whole tongue thing are given "Special Abilities". Such as prophecy and when you touch people they get a burning feeling and the ability to see demons and angels and whatnot. This is about the third question I post here but i'm curious of this religion (Judging by the last answer it's Pentecostal?) Anybody who has this can you tell me why only these people get it and what they are exactly?
Edgar Alan POE: Yeah it does. hahaha but it doesn't stop there. They say they see visions of the future and that they see demons and stuff.
They even chose some kid to be a prophet.

Except for hallucinating demons it sounds like Pentecostal. There is also a group that some believe is a cult called The Way Ministry, that teaches such things as a promise offered to Christians in the New Testament.
Not only members of those denominations can do it. It's just not acceptable to talk about such things in other denominations. People keep the prophesies to themselves. It can be explained that you have to receive a gift in order to experience it. Like a literal gift, if you don't accept it, you don't get it. If you don't open it you don't know what it is. If you don't use it, you don't get to experience it. Some say spiritual gifts are like that. It is available to many but received and used by a few.

The special powers are listed in the New Testament-some are prophets, some teachers, some are businessmen and women, some have a healing touch and some speak in unknown tongues and some intrepret these unknown tongues. Jesus said we could do what He did and more but I have not seen but about two people who were dead come back to life.I once saw a dog get hit by a car and died, so I went over and prayed for him and he jumped up and was not hurt at all. I could not believe waht I saw.

Acts 2 is the start of pentecotal Hence the bible calls it the day of pentecostal they gethered and were visited by the "Holy Ghost" or Holy Spirit and given power from on high jesus metions the Comforter before He dies that the father would give it to Hid followers and Acts 2 is the first account of this but since then sooo many accounts of people in the bible beng "filled with the Holy Ghost" and speaking in tongues. Chorinthians also give an explanation of all the gifts of the spirit and how to use them if you want to learn more contact me personally and ill teach you the best i can but always PRAY for God to show you the truth

They are several supernatural gifts given by the Holy Spirit to those moving in the Spirit to uplift and encourage the church.

I agree with Urmypets...you can't judge them, God says he gives those who He has chosen, who chose Him first that He really chose first to be the ones to lead...so then that means people in Islam believe this, people in Judaism believe this, so why can't Christians believe this?
