Can you deny the urge to push?
I've read alot of labor stories where the mom says I felt the urge to push and they always push even when they don't want to have their baby yet (like in a car) so I was just wondering I you feel you need to push can you hold it in?

Honestly, I've never tried, by the pushing stage I was more than happy to get the baby out! At some point, instinct takes over from rational thought, especially in a natural non medicated labor. Your body says "push" and you say "yes ma'am!"

It depends on how far the baby has descended. A mom can keep herself from actively pushing, thus slowing baby's descent, but her body pushes out the baby without her active, chosen participation. It is very difficult to mentally overcome your body intensely telling you to help with the pushing efforts, and that is why women will pant or do something to distract themselves if they need to wait. Waiting, however, does not stop them from pushing completely and does not necessarily even stop them from pushing at all. Being in a car or other undesireable location for the birth does not stop your body's natural mechanisms of birth, and if birth is imminant, the baby will be born. The most you can hope for in "holding back" is that it may be a little slower.

actually, as frightening as your tale is, there is not any thank you to sue for malpractice on condition that neither you nor your baby have been completely injured or harmed in any way because of the nurses' movements (or state of being inactive, to that end). My suggestion could be to touch the affected person amenities branch of the wellness facility and hotel a appropriate criticism against the L&D team with them. be confident to stay with as much as see what has been finished. in case you at the instant are not happy which you're being heard, pass directly to the administration employer of the wellness facility. i'm extraordinarily sorry which you had to undergo this form of terrible delivery journey. those "nurses" should not be allowed to handle sufferers that way. good luck!

You can try, but eventually your body will just push the baby out on it's own. When I gave birth to my daughter I didn't have to actively push my body just did it.

No, honestly it over takes you, in- control able I think, definitely, hopefully you wont be ready for pushing in a car, that would be very bad luck lol

What I've heard is: No. you just want to push and even if the doctor says "NO" ....nature just knows

You think you would be able to hold it but it is very very very hard.... my nurse's always calmed me down and made me breath and it helped a lot, but sometimes it is too hard to control.
