If Republican politicians want to cut wasteful spending and benifits, why don't they give up their pensions?

and lifetime healthcare?

    They have earned their pensions. How about we do something smart and worthwhile? How about we take all the "stimulus" money that has not been used and apply it to either the deficit or to continue to pay people not to work. How about instead funding crosswalks for turtles in Florida, we apply that money towards the debt? How about giving five year olds social security checks bc they are ADHD, we invest that money in debt reduction? How about we cut the expensive parties at the White House? Why don't we quit paying farmers to not plant crops? Maybe we should cut the security detail for Pauxataney Phil (a ground hog)

    How about we do away with the following expenses and use that money to pay down debt or cut taxes?

    $465,000,000 for the alternate engine for the Joint Strike Fighter;

    $5,000,000 for the Presidio Heritage Center in California;

    $1,000,000 for Portsmouth Music Hall in New Hampshire;

    $400,000 for the USA Swimming Foundation in New Jersey;

    $300,000 for Carnegie Hall in New York City;

    $250,000 for the Monroe County Farmer’s Market in Kentucky;

    $200,000 for the Washington National Opera in the District of Columbia; and

    $206,000 for wool research in Montana, Texas, and Wyoming.

    Cut 25 billion by getting rid of vacant govt buildings instead of maintaining them.

    Cut 2.6 billion by cutting funding for the program that trains prostitutes to drink more responsibly while on the job

    The Securities and Exchange Commission spent $3.9 million rearranging desks and offices at its Washington, D.C., headquarters. That sure could have been done cheaper

    And the list can go on and on. Let's do something really big and stop the pork.

    Consider The Rights Of Man by Thomas Paine in which he wrote that a member of Government should take no more than that required to live on to do the job elected for.

    Consider also Thomas Paine's views on The French Revolution and how in future nations could save both in taxes and military spending. His views on England compare with disparity today in the poor getting the shitty end of the stick. Thomas Paine also wrote that the armies of Europe could combine.

    I see also how the U.S.A. could have with Europe as well once revolutions were achieved.

    So the thought is to follow his reasoning and suggest turning the U.N. into a revolutionary force in 21st Century because he says people must have sound principles for revolution.

    The end result of such a revolution would be a Green-Marxist U.N.

    This would resolve the problem of the reputation of the U.N. being ineffective and achieve your desire.

    This means no more taxes being high. If France could have a revolution and it do away with animosities between French and English then a U.N. revolution could do the same for the world.

    The Democrats should also accept similar cuts, in the spirit of bipartisanship.

    But this country could save $115 BILLION per year just by enforcing immigration laws more vigouously.

    AMEN!!! Whatever happened to serving the people? I believe "we the people" should demand 2 term term limits, a 50% cut in pay for Congress and no benefits or perks. As a "servant to the people" you come from the private sector and to the private sector you shall return.

    Have been asking that for a long time. Did you see the incredibly stupid answers Steele gave to a Reporter?

    What a club he belongs to.
