Something wrong with me?

I've always had problems with depression & anxiety.

Especially if something bad happens, it gets worse.

But lately, I can be fine one minute and the next im in tears. Sometimes i just start to feel low and sometimes almost suicidal. Its like nothing in the world can make me feel better when i feel like that, i just have to let the emotion pass. Other times I feel excited and i can talk 4 ages. Little things can also make me really angry, & when i feel angry i want to smash something up or scream.

Also when im anxious, i have racing thoughts, scary ones of scary things. Especially at night when im alone, so now i've got into the routine of going 2 bed in the mornings again.

Im sick of these feelings, they are too up & down...am i nuts?

Firstly, I am not a Doctor, but have experienced Clinical Depression in the past, which is probably due to repeated head trauma on my part ( long story, won't bore you with my past ), but this kind of sounds like you are describing Bi-polarism. I would go in and get checked out, but try to avoid the drugs if you possibly can. Now you mentioned that you seem to able to let the emotion pass, and this is what I do as well, which takes some training and an overall positive outlook on life. What is going on in your life that is causing you to react this way? You might want to look at your diet too, i.e. how much sugar do you eat, as hypo-glycemia (low blood sugar) can cause mood swings as well, usually within an hour of eating high simple carbo meals, like white bread, white rice, pasta etc. You are not nuts, OK? Everybody experiences highs and lows, but I am not trying to minimize how you feel, and you have every right to feel the way you do. Lastly Sis, you are not alone, and many suffer as you do, so maybe look for a support group, because talking often helps. Please be well, and take one day at a time!!!!! Good Luck!!!

you may need medication sadly :-( or what you could do is find something that makes you feel better, like watching funny videos on youtube, that maybe a good solution, finding things that make you laugh, if something is really funny and it makes you laugh you will forget about what was making you so sad after a while, find things to preoccupy yourself when you feel that way, staying idol will only make it worse, write poems, or draw or watch a DVD, but dont just sit there and stare into space or out the window feeling sad. good luck and feel better.
