If she is in Australia on a student visa and if you are legally married, she can apply for an onshore Partner visa with you as her sponsor. You will have to prove that yours is a genuine relationship and not a sham entered into just to get a visa for her, but provided you are able to do that and provided your sponsorship is accepted, she should have her visa within 4-6 months. If her student visa will expire in the meantime, she will be granted a bridging visa to enable her to stay in Australia while her Partner visa application is decided. Her Partner visa will be temporary/provisional for 2 years after application and will then become permanent if your relationship is still intact. During either phase of her Partner visa, she has unrestricted work privileges and eligibility for Medicare.

http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1127.pdf Partner Migration booklet. Pay particular attention to 'Evidence that your relationsahip is genuine' on pages 40-41. Most Partner visa applications that come unstuck do so because of a lack of solid relationship evidence - simply being married isn't nearly enough.
