How many pitches did Nolan Ryan throw in his professional career? Does he have the record? If not, who does?

I know the answer is out there. Just don't know where to find it. Hoping some extreme stat buff will be able to answer this. I have wondered about this question for many years.

The attached official Nolan Ryan website indicates:

"Number of MLB pitches thrown by Nolan Ryan (at 12 pitches/inning conservative estimate): 64,644"

Think that is the most accurate number to be found.

I don't think anyone does know, since they didn't keep as close track of pitch counts when Nolan Ryan started. However, there is some formulae called the pitch count estimator, so it is possible to make an educated guess.

There isn't perfect play by play data for 19th and early 20th century baseball games so it's impossible to know who owns this record but Walter Johnson holds the record for most innings pitched (5914.1 IP ). Ryan had 5386 IP

It's unknown. Pitch counts weren't kept track of the same then as they are now. If you want to do some painstaking research and math, feel free, as that would be a cool project.

a pitch count wasn't kept track of until very recent times

my best guess would be about 75,000+ pitches over his career he had close to

    6,000 innings pitched
