Modern warfare 2 resurgence pack problems for pc?

I just bought the resurgence pack for pc today and after I bought it it put all these folders and other files on my desktop. And then I clicked on the game to play and it said updating steam, so i let it sit for about 10 minutes and it said it would take 1 day and 2 hours until it was done so i just canceled. and then on steam it was downloading on modern warfare Multiplayer and campaign, and i would take 8 or more hours. i would like to know how i can fix this.

I bought the first map pack for modern warfare 2 and didn't have problems with it.

    i think u can fix it by puttin' ur NEW PACK files into ZONE in modern warfare directory, and then update steam . if it's still the same , reinstall ur steam copy ! i hope that helped u !!!

    as of now it rather is a xbox 360 unique and there is no information on whilst the resurgence %. will come out for the PS3 and that i do no longer probable care nevertheless MW2 is an hyped up and hyped game i do no longer even play it anymore
