What is wrong with my new built computer?
I just got my brand new graphic card yesterday. It's a EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 240. I pushed it into the PCI-E 2.0 slot, then turn it on. Every componet was on for a few seconds, then everything shuts down. The machine restarts again, without me pressing the power button, the same thing happens. The third time it starts, the machine successfully start, but the graphic card doesn't start with it. No fan, no heating up. Just all the fans starting up in the machine. The chassis, the CPU, the one in the PSU. Can anyone tell me what exactly is wrong with my new built computer? The motherboard, or is it something else. I'm pretty sure the CPU isn't having a problem. Please help!
Mobo: ASUS P6T
CPU: Intel i7
PSU: SilverStone OP 650 (650W)

Aw man, I had this problem with my gateway. It's not pretty... For me, I used my warranty to have them replace the burnt out power supply, that's probably what's wrong with your computer. The graphics card may have been too powerful and your computer didn't have enough power to support it. In my case, I got my hand caught in the fan while I was fixing the wires with the computer on, like an idiot.

Sounds like it could be a bad motherboard, or maybe the motherboard screws are too tight and the back of the motherboard is touching the metal case and causing a short. Make sure all your connections from the power supply are secure as well.

Hi,
Does the pc make any beeping noises when it boots up as if it does then they can be a clue as to what is wrong, see here for the codes:-

Your power supply is powerful enough but have you connected the power supply to the graphics card if that card requires a separate power connection?
