How can Obama be the President of the United States when he was born on foreign soil?

I read on the internet that Obama was born in Hawaii and since that isn't in the continental United States, how can he be President??

Well! I heard he was born from a coupling of a blue dragon and a unicorn, giving him superhuman mind control powers that work across income brackets, national borders, and TV transmissions. Sure, the affected will talk about facts, documents, and evidence, but me and the teabaggers know it's actual sorcery! *wink and a knowing nod*

Poor Batty Bat. Our President was born in an American State. Hawaii is a State. But the soil is not connected to the American Continent. I am not sure what year that Hawaii became a State. I would have to look that up. Just think John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone. He was NOT born on American Soil and he is still thinking about trying again to become the President. How can he be President ??? Sure his Father was stationed in Panama, but he was still born on Foreign Soil.

You don't have to be born in the Continental US, just anywhere in the US. and since Hawaii is a state, he gets to be president

Hawaii is a state. The Constitution doesn't say it has to be part of the continental U.S. If that was the case, McCain couldn't have run because he wasn't even born in this country, but rather on an army base in Panama.

Obama was born there 4 years after Hawaii became a State, as I recollect. Yes it is American soil, and yes Hawaiians will kick your ***** if you dance with their sisters.

I heard that too! Hawaii wasn't even a state for the longest. I still don't know how it became a state, it's an ISLAND! I don't think any president that comes from an island is a true president at all.

Hawaii is classified as a state, so Obama's legal. Of course, it's occupied territory, with its original legal government overthrown by U.S. troops in a blatant act of imperial conquest, but that's a different matter.

What I don't get is that when the Big Boys who own USA, Inc. got themselves a black lawyer to be their middle-manager and run their government for them, all of these people freaked out. That the wealthy in this country OWN us all, lock, stock and barrel, doesn't bother people -- no, the important thing is the skin color of the strawboss they've appointed!

"And you know, he's a Nazi and a Marxist, and he was born in Kenya."

    Pitiful excuse for political dialogue.

(sighs and sticks tongue out at Batty for her poking fun at idiots)

    I know, darling!! Right??

And I heard that his mother wasn't a real citizen because she didn't vote before he was born and that his father said that he was a Kenyan the whole time that his mother was pregnant with him and that his mother never once said the pledge of allegiance while she was in labor!!

Can you imagine?? It was on the internet so I know it was true because they couldn't publish it if it wasn't true!!

It's disgraceful the way our country is being taken over by Kenyan imperialists!!

Hawaii is really volcanic rock crushed rather than soil, so he wasn't born on foreign soil but on foreign volcanic rock.

I've been there a few times and its not like regular soil.
