Although the King of Thailand is the Supreme Head of the Thai Armed Forces his position is only nominal. The Ministry and the Force is instead administer by an appointed civilian politician: the Minister of Defence of Thailand a member of the Cabinet of Thailand. The Minister of Defence of Thailand is currently: General Prawit Wongsuwan.

The Chief of Joint Staff is General Ratchakrit Kanchanawat

General Anupong Paochinda (as mentioned by others) is the Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai ARMY (not the Navy or the Air Force)
