Did you do meal planning for right after you gave birth?

I am getting induced on Thursday and getting those last minute things ready for when I am out of commission. Did you make and freeze meals, or did you depend on your husband to do dinners? I am getting ready to go do the last grocery shopping trip and I am debating which to do. I am leaning towards depending on the husband, he has told me to let him handle dinners, but I don't want to live off of sandwiches till I am up to doing dinners.

So, did you make and freeze or do dinners? If you made and froze what are some of the best meals for that? If you depended on your husband what did you make sure was in the house that is easy for him to make? I have already thought of spaghetti, casserole dishes, but those can get old quickly.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

i think freezing meals would be very clever

that way if your both tired lack of time etc

    you can still eat healthily

let your husband cook a couple of meals a week but do not rely on him he may be tired to

"Foods that I find freeze particularly well are chili, spaghetti sauce, beef or chicken tortilla casserole, oven-barbecued chicken and sausage, homemade meatballs and hamburger patties, enchiladas and burritos, Mexican lasagna, most soups (except those with chunks of potatoes...they get mushy upon reheating), stuffed manicotti, meatloaf, homemade mac and cheese and pot pies...just to name a few."

i havent yet but i am going to make and freeze dinners. you can try and rely on your husband but he is going to be exhausted as well as you are, hell be waking up when the baby cries too, plus he may be going back to work soon, so yeah i would rely on him for some, but not all, just freeze some because some nights neither of you will want to do anything

  • Luckily, I have a husband that can cook, so he'll probably make me things. With the last baby, he was deployed so I ended up making things that took like 10 minutes to cook.

  • It would hurt to have a few meals frozen away. Cook and freeze things like chili, stew or soups. Things that can easily be re-heated.
