Wow, how about Big Papi?

Your thoughts on his performance tonight?

Update:

Edit: Lol, seems like girls always have something to nice say about adorable little kids, don't they.

Update 2:

Edit 2: Hey Cali, maybe Dustin's baby will grow up to have the same smooth swing. Just hope his baby doesn't grow up to be as short as him.

He really put on a show and did a great job. I didn't know much about Ortiz besides baseball related stuff, but once I heard him in all his interviews I kind of grew to like him. Which may be weird, considering I'm a Yankee fan, but he seemed really cool and humble, and overall just like a nice guy. He really deserved to win it, and I hope he had a good time. It's nice to see what a complete turn around he's done from the beginning of the season.

And shinings, oh my God his son is SO cute! I didn't even know he had a kid before tonight, but his son is adorable for sure!

Edit: That's really great, shinings. I saw Victor's kids too. Your Red Sox team sure has a whole bunch of cute kids over there. (:

That was fantastic! He didn't rush and was patient. I think winning the Home run Derby was a truly good thing for him. Back in April, people were already getting on him and saying, "Oh, the Red Sox should release Ortiz." Well he just proved all those people wrong, and I am so glad to have seen that happen! :)

EDIT: YES! Papi's kid is sooo adorable XD

EDIT #2: We can't help it. Little Papi is just so cute!

Oh! And little Victor is so adorable also! lmao, the BigD has a point! We are all suckers for small children X] ...I wonder if they'll show Dustin Pedroia's baby sometime?

Proud of him! =) It's got to feel great after what he went through last season & earlier this season. It was lots of fun watching him hitting bombs as well as laughing and chatting it up with his friends and son - Sox fans get to see D'Angelo all the time but now you all know cute he is =) Congrats to all the participants and a job well done and big congrats to David Ortiz. He looked like the old Papi we know and love and I'm proud of him. And happy someone on the Red Sox has finally won the HR Derby!

EDIT: Lol definitely Sarah =) It's so cute, he along with Victor Martinez's son are always in full uniform and on the field during batting practice before every game. They're our unofficial mascots =P

Big surprise to me, he's beginning to resurface as one of the best players in the game again. I know tonight was just something for fun but his numbers this season show that he can still play and hit for power. His performance tonight was outstanding.

Amazing! He was so happy to be there, which made me even happier that we won. Hey did you notice how he stopped batting to have a drink lol, and then other players did that too!

And we finally got a Red Sox player to win!!

It was cute when Ortiz was batting his son was pretending to bat too!

That was awesome, but predictable, he was has only been one of the top power hitters from the second half last year til now and there really wasn't much competition. All the sh*t people have been talking about him over the last two years is undeserved and I'm glad he has gotten this moment so he can be like, "look at me, I don't hit like a lil b*tch, I hit like Big Papi."

That's exactly what he would say.

Like the other Red Sox fans who answered this said, I'm proud. I honestly did not think he was going to win it. I was definitely routing for him but I really didn't think he would and he surprised me and I'm excited the a player on the Red Sox finally won it.

I was right. I am pretty sure this is his first one too. I thought Corey Hart looked very good in the beginning but, sucked in the 2nd round.

I'm so proud! I think he did amazing. He paced himself, he was patient and took pitches and timed his swings. He really proved that he can be the old David Ortiz again and that's what I'm really happy about. Maybe the people who doubted him this year and last will finally shut up.
