To what extent is the goverment involved in adoption where you are?

In Ontario, Canada ALL homestudies are done by Ministry approved social workers and ALL adoption applications are submitted to the Ministry for approval. Within all that are laws and restrictions against money being spent on the pregnant woman for expenses etc..., that the AP's are responsible for any and all counselling and even court involvement in an openness agreement is violated. Within the homestudy process, there are criminal checks, reference checks, medical exams and home visits.

I'm not claiming perfection at any point in this process as I'm sure there is the potential for corruption at any level.

Just wondered if private adoptions are overseen by government agencies in your State, Province or Country.

Many thanks.

Alberta Canada`s system is very similar, if not exactly the same as Ontario`s. In fact, we had much of the same checks and balances with our adoption in India. The social worker had to be appointed by the Court an State certified. We had to supply both Canadian and Indian criminal records checks, Canadian credit checks, certified medical info. We had to attend court and there had to be Court records presented for the earlier attempts to adopt our daughter to Indian families (3 Indian families had to deny offers to adopt her before she could go for foreign adoption). As you say, no system is perfect but not all systems are corrupt either.

All adoptions go through social workers via social services or an adoption agency as private adoption is illegal. The government has a budget for social services so it's in their interests to 'encourage foster care and adoption' to keep their budget. Sadly the end result of this is forced adoptions are on the up.

I live in Kansas, USA and yes Kansas residents have to do all of the too. The only difference I can see is the law does not require AP's to provide counseling only an attorney for the birth mom. Each state varies on what AP's can pay for expenses. This is all for a privet adoption some agencies have additional rules. I know is Kansas the bio mom would sign anytime after 8 hours and it's non-reversible, but does have to finalized by the court for many day after that, hope this helped you.

Well I'm in the UK, which means that all adoptions have to go through some form of Social Services checking, as well as having to go through the courts - but since the SS are themselves snatching kids to feed their "adoption quotas", I'd hardly say that Grubbymint involvement is necessarily a plus point. :(

i did no longer propose to affiliate anorexia to adoption as being an adoption subject. It replaced into her particular way of being waiting to regulate what she could. I had a chum inform a youthful woman that if she began to get fat this person replaced into going to take over her foodstuff plan. I observed that as a ability issue for the extra youthful woman and spoke with the guy who reported it. words may well be very unfavourable to every person. i replaced into purely attempting to point that out. like the individuals who heard that their mothers enjoyed them lots they gave them away. a number of those young ones somewhat theory that in case you adore your baby you may supply them away. i be attentive to that ingesting themes are actually not quickly linked yet may well be in a baby's mine who can no longer administration something, a thank you to maintain their status with their mum and dad. Does that make experience? And there are different issues that youngsters misread with the aid of fact of their age and the actual shown fact that they are accompanied. issues that non accompanied infants does no longer think of two times approximately. i'm unsure i'm relaying this as properly as i could, or as properly as others could be waiting to do. there is no longer one set component, yet somewhat the theory particular issues can spark diverse meanings in adoptee's with the aid of fact of their adoption status. with the aid of fact of this I initially asked approximately a number of the marketplace language getting used. in case you be attentive to that others theory this or misinterpreted that as a baby does no longer you opt for to be attentive to for the sake of your very own baby? i hit upon a number of their language to be volatile. no longer that it replaced into meant to be, yet all in all is unquestionably volatile.

    Your post baits, seriously.

We all know that "government" that is "elected" and/or "approved" is a means to create "faith" in the system. And we all know the history of that bullsh*t right? Unless of course you think Brian Mulroney was an "honest" politician? Or that George Bush wanted to stabilize the American economy? Yeah right, nice try though -

You ought to look at how you've come to define "crime" and/or take a look at what Edwin Sutherland had to say about, white-collar crime.

No they aren't. That is why Canadians are all over US adoption web groups to try to score US born infants.
