I want to get a hamster but my parents always say "NO RODENTS!"?

I wanted to get a hamster now for a while, but my parents say "NO RODENTS!" I don't get it because I am very responsible. I am on the honor roll at school, and I always help my parents around the house. Its not like i'm begging them to buy it for me, I am going to use my own money that I earned from doing chores. Also, I would defiantly not treat my new hamster as a RODENT! I would treat it as if it was a new member of the family. I would even keep it in my bed room so they would have to be bothered with it. I promised to take care of it all by myself. Please if you have any advice to help convince my parents to let me get a hamster, let me know. Thank you.

    1. Keep your room clean all the time

    2. Do chores around the house to get extra money so you can buy the supplies yourself

    3. Show responsibility

    4. Be mature – no begging!

    5. Write essays and add up the total of all the supplies you need.

    6. Try hamster babysitting if you must

    7. ALWAYS talk about them.

Some parents think hamsters are gross little rodents.

Tell your parents that hamsters only do their “business” in one spot. They will usually clean themselves like a cat when they wake up. You have to clean a hamsters cage once a week, so it won’t smell bad. Also, tell your parents that the hamster cage will be in YOUR bedroom. Hope you get that hamster!

That happened to me last summer. I still got one though because my 2 siblings were so mean and hard on me my parents felt bad and got me one :) You should try and get your siblings to get mad at you while being innocent. Try getting a broken bone and make it seem or let them break it. Though it WILL hurt it can also be risky and obvious. Hamsters are also not the most expensive pet (I bought 2 for about 36 dollars)

if you want a rodent a rat makes a far better pet. hamsters don't like being held and are bad for biting. rats on the other hand are very smart and actually enjoy being played with. but that's an even harder sell for the parents I'm sure. perhaps you can ask for a tarantula or a snake and hope they will allow you to keep a rodent? either way look up care sheets and all the info you can find and try to talk them into it by showing them all of the cool things that you found out about them?

Do NOT just get one without your parents knowing! If they find it, and make you give it away..adjusting to new homes is extremely stressful on hamsters, and moving that frequently will likely cause him to be difficult to tame, or he may become sick and die.

Just do a LOT of research and show it all to your parents. Once they know how serious you are about wanting a pet, and how little care hamsters require compared to a cat or dog, they might let you get one!

    goodluck:)

if they dont want a rodent then just tell them its a mammle ;) lol, if they say no then either beg or try to get a different pet. Anyway, you can do A LOT of research and then tell them everything good about them and then tell them some of the worst things. But then remind them that you will do what ever it takes to fix and of the worst things it does. Good luck

your parents said no rodents, that's life! deal with it! when you have your own house, get one! or Just buy it on your own with out them knowing, then they can't say no! but they are your parents, you have to respect them! tell them it's a mammal! tell them they won't have to deal with the hamster! and if they still say no, just drive to the pet store and buy your hamster and it's supplies!

properly, they are in all probability saying no for multiple motives. How previous are you? Are you under sixteen? which would be between the justifications. have you ever had the different pets? Did your different pets die when you consider which you probably did not take very stable care of them? Or are they in undesirable shape? have you ever had pets which you enjoyed for the 1st week or month and then grow to be tired of it after and left it for you mom and dad to safeguard? There are a lot of motives mom and dad wont budge once you ask for a puppy. Oh, did you whine and circulate "please please please i'm going to love you continuously" once you asked them? once you ask them, you desire to physique of ideas them maturely with a stack of papers on what you be attentive to. deal which contain your ideas like a college project. convey at the same time all of it up with the main serious info and take a seat your mom and dad down and characteristic an grownup verbal replace with them approximately it. tell them "hear what I could say till now you're saying, please". clarify gently, will your self to not whine and circulate "i individually, somewhat need one i'm going to be stable and..." etc. in the event that they are saying "i'm going to think of roughly it" do not come to them and ask "have you ever made up your ideas?" This annoys them. look ahead to them to make up their ideas, even though long it takes. they're going to come to you in some unspecified time interior the destiny with an answer. in spite of everything this, in the event that they are saying no, be rational and circulate "ok, positive". do not throw a tantrum, because of the fact in some months, in case you ask for a puppy back, they're going to take your reactions and each thing into attention and could say definite. Oh, and shop doing all your chores daily. yet, interior the midst of all this, in case you think of to your self "God, it somewhat is boring. it is not properly worth it". Then in basic terms backpedal the assumption, when you consider which you're in all probability unlikely to be committed to the puppy in case you won't be able to take the needed steps to convincing your mom and dad your to blame sufficient to have one. i wish this would not sound harsh, i don't mean to be rude. in basic terms some coaching. while i became into youthful and that i wanted a puppy, I had to study very slowly on the thank you to cajole them i want a puppy.

well tell them why cat i get one?

say after you buy it and your parents dont think you are responsible enough

you will give it to a friend or give back to the pet shop (you may get no refund)

but if you buy a parakeet such as a budgie

your parents will be amazed with the little guy

thats whats happening in my case

its soo cute and comes to play outside and goes back when its done

it does a lot of things,
