Exercise while sore and coughing?
Hi All,
So I have been on a life overhaul, getting up at 5:30am mon-fri to run for an hour before I walk to work so I can lose weight and get fit for summer. In doing that I am eating a whole lot better too. This has been going on for 2-3 Months, but every say 4 weeks I have like a burger to make me feel not so deprived ha ha.
But recently my knee has become sore, sometimes I can feel it when I walk not just run. It's sort of a sore bone like feeling, just from the jarring I reckon. I am afraid to go for my runs with this, but at the same time I'm scared of being slack.
Also I have acquired a annoying cough and runny nose, I ran on Monday ( but i have not ran tues,wed or today as I have been off work sick) with it but it was hell, as soon as a hill came up i coughing like crazy. I know what your thinking just don't run-But I cant not do anything, If I feel like I am being lazy, i go lazy on the food too-weight loss is a mental game not a physical one i swear!
but now its has become both, what should I do???

I would advise to stop running for a while:
1) for your knee: you don't want to get a more severe injury
2) for your cold: your immune system is weakened right now
I know you want to lose weight, but too much exercising can also weaken your immune system.
Listen to your body. Rest and keep eating healthy.
I've been through this: you will have more energy to exercise when you get better and there's some chance that you will lose more weight after a rest

Your throat is regularly sore on the 1st day.i can't help you on the cough,its gonna appear for a whilst..possibly for each week.yet you should aim rubbing vicks vapor rub on your chest and throat area beforehand you sleep. For the sore throat, have some ginger tea or basically warm water with ginger.Lozenges help too. issues to keep away from goodies,sugar,chilly stuff and bananas (strangely difficult to swallow) Sleep with the fan or AC off this evening and snuggle up. you will likely awaken with a runny nostril in case you do no longer ( have confidence me in this one, I actual have a chilly at present coz I left the fan on.)
