Need help setting up PlayStation 2?
I recently bought a pre-owned PlayStation 2. I have it set up except for one problem. When I turn the system on, the green light comes on to indicate the system is working but I don't see the game on my screen. All I see is my regular tv. This question probably has a simple answer, but right now even that is eluding me. Any help would be appreciated.

Check your TV or monitor for available video inputs. The most common are composite cords, which come with a new PS2. This cord has one plug on one side, with the other side having three ends colored yellow, white and red.
Plug the single end of the video cord into the back of the PS2. Plug the other side of the cord into the corresponding colors in your video input on your television.
Plug the AC adapter (power cord), into the back of the PS2. The other side of the cord should then be plugged into the wall. A red right will appear on the front of the PS2, signaling that it is on standby mode, and receiving the required power.
Plug your controllers into the controller ports on the front of the PS2 console. The player one port should always have a controller plugged into it, as most games require the player one port and you will not be able to interact with the game or media via the player two controller.
Insert a PS2 memory card into the slot above the player one controller. Most games require a card in memory card slot one rather than memory card slot two, and will not read from slot two at all.
If it still doesn't work then just buy a new one or just look at this other information below.
First plug the red, yellow and white cords into the red, yellow and white plug-ins on your tv.
Hint-Red cord goes into red hole, yellow cord goes into yellow hole and white cord goes into white hole.
If you have multiple red, yellow and white plug-ins the ones you choose will determine the channel your tv must be on to see and hear your game.
Example-If you plug the cords into the plug-ins on the front of your tv you might have to use A/V or input channel 2 while if you plug the cords into the plug-ins on the back of your tv you might have to use A/V or input channel 1.
After you plug the cords into your tv, plug the other end of the wire into the back of your PS2 where it fits.
Plug the power cord into a power outlet and plug the other end of the cord into the back of your PS2 where it fits.
Plug your memory card into memory card slot 1 which is the memory card slot on the left.
Hint-It's pretty easy to tell what the memory card slots are because they say "Memory Card" right on them.
After you plug your memory card into slot 1, plug your PS2 controller into the slot right below your memory card.
If you want to play the game with two people just plug another controller into controller port 2.
Open the disk cover by pushing the button just right of memory card slot 2.
Take your game out of it's case and place it in the system, data side down, and close the disk cover.
Turn on your tv and turn it to the correct channel.
Hit the power button which will be the button that has the little red light on it.
If the system doesn't turn on look back in the instructions to see if you missed anything.

You may be on the incorrect AV channel or simply the red, yellow, and white wires are not correctly plugged in. It could also be the other end of the AV wires connecting to the playstation.
Or the TV's turned off.

You need to change the input mode, right now it is still set to your cable.
to change it, get your remote and look for the "input" or "source" button.
try using that or there may be a button on the TV itself
