Can divorce papers be served to me at my parent's address?

I've been separated from my husband for just over 2 years and I was planning on starting divorce proceedings in a couple of months time. He has now decided that he wants to file for divorce himself and he has asked me for my home address to serve the papers. I really don't want him to know where I am living now, can I ask for them to be served to me at my parents address? (he already knows their address and my parents are happy with this if it is OK). Thanks in advance x

Update:

Sorry! Forgot to add that I'm in England.

I think it can be done, contact the Clerk to the Court of your local Court and ask. That way you will know exactly the position. I am certain that something like this can be done, for instance some people will have them served at their Solicitor's.

If you explain to the Clerk of the Court the reasonsfor why you would be anxious if your soon-to-be-ex

got your home address you will find that you are not the first lady who has had to hide thier wherabouts. Best of luck

maximum states enable what's called a observe of e-e book. in case you won't be able to discover your important different to serve him, touch your interior sight court docket homestead. they provides you with a itemizing of newspapers that they are going to settle for. you're able to touch the paper and report a observe of e-e book for the divorce. It desires to run for 30 days, this would then be his "notification". If he does not respond, the divorce will grow to be a default divorce, and it could nevertheless be filed and authorized without his popularity or signature when you consider which you accompanied the guidelines and filed that observe.

Here in the US, summons servers (that's the person that delivers the divorce papers) will deliver the papers where ever they can find you.
