The day she turns eighteen,

You’ll see my smile spread.

My thoughts will seem to be out loud,

Yet they remain unsaid.

My breath will be absent.

I’ll be capable of just one action.

Bringing her heart so close to mine,

To satisfy the attraction.

Our lips will slowly come together.

Soon sparks will be ignited.

All the sorrows will wash away.

The wrongs will then be righted.

I’ll place her left wrist in my hand,

To hold my promise complete.

“I’ll be back for this one day.”

Once again, our lips will meet.

My love will overwhelm me.

My heart will then be healed.

I will not let harm befall her.

My existance is her shield.

So long as i am breathing,

And, my heart’s still beating.

I’ll do anything to keep her safe.

There will be no retreating.

I need to be her protection.

Her suited, shining knight.

I would cast my life into the flames.

To ensure she is alright.

I will stand my ground.

I will wait here forever.

So long as her hand’s in mine.

Its better late than never.
