Your thoughts on Aussie vs Springboks this weekend.?

I really think the All Blacks have done Australia a huge favour, Bakkies botha and Devilliers both out.

The Boks will have thier pride dented and will be still recovering from two very high pace high intensity battles.

They have not won in Brisbane for a long long time if ever and i think the Wallabies have had the blueprint layd out for them on how to beat the Boks.

If aussie can hold thier own in the fowards which will be a big ask i think they have the backline to make dents into this Bok backline.

Will be a very interesting game to watch and another loss for Africa could well be the end of thier chances this year. Go the Aussies from a Kiwi!!!!!!!!

Update:

Lol at the wallaby backline being the envy of the world. I must have missed the games when they have looked anything but average. They have some good individual talent, but as a backline working together they are far from being the smooth operators that they shud be. Genia has not sparked in the Wallaby Jumper this year and Cooper has shown glimpses of brilliance mixed with inexperience, Giteau has had one solid game and might be on his way back into some form. Australia had the form 9 10 of the Super 14 but they are yet to carry any of that into the internationals, Judging by a loss to England and a narrow win against Ireland.

After seeing the Aussie scrum collapse against England and Ireland, I think the boks will run rampant in the forwards. Ball retention was shocking by the wallabies in those games too. I think a lot of work is needed by the wallabies and they lack the match practise and hardness. They havent played in almost in a month. They will be fresher but I think they will be caught out on match hardness and will struggle. Boks by 6

I think the Boks will finally win one on the road, but they have a lot to sort out and this game is key to getting that underway!

Defensively they've been poor, you'd never say that the Stormers were the best defensive team in the Super 14 the way the Boks (in particular Fourie, Habana and Aplon) have been tackling! Pierre Spies has always been weak on defence and if I was coaching him I'd crack the whip and let him know that no matter how marvelous he is with ball in hand if he misses more than 1 tackle in the next game he'll be watching from the bench and Kankowski will get a start. Olivier has also been dismal.

Discipline has been poor!! They deserved the yellowcards and no matter how poor the ref might have been last Saterday, the fact that they are being watched extra carefully has been brought on by themselves. They are vastly experienced with more than 700 test caps between them and the fact that John Smit or PDV has to even mention discipline SHOULD be considered an insult - they should get their heads screwed on straight.

After 2 weeks of watching a sloth play Scrumhalf, I hope we'll have something to get excited about in the nr. 9 position with regard to selection.

I'd also get rid of the spare weight the boks have been carrying around - Butch James, Chilliboy must have been the 9th best hooker SA has got at this stage.

If they can't sort at least these things they'll get slaughtered again and then it truly will be PDV's fault for not addressing the issues when he should have.

I don't think it will be close at all, I think NZ has royally angered the Bok. It's like they've been taunting an injured Rhino, and it will look to take it's vengeance on the next thing that crosses it's path.

Australia don't have the men to take on the Boks at the breakdown the way the All Blacks did, and if they don't get the ball it doesn't matter how much backline envy they have (sorry, but I'll take Nonu and Smith over Barnes and Giteau any day of the millenium), they won't get the ball. The Boks will destroy Australia.

I hope I am proven wrong, but I can't see the Wallabies competing at all.

If the Boks couldnt handle the intensity of the All Blacks - their in for a similar kind of torture since this Wallaby backline is currently the envy of the world.

Id normally say the Boks set peices would rule the game but apart from the lineout - they looked unusually shakey in key parts of their game, mainly the phases - and the Wallaby scrum wont be the 1st - 3rd choice one displayed in the Internation's a few weeks ago, their main props will be back and their lineout isnt looked too bad either - Plus their backrow is fast shaping up to be the best in the world.

Unless the Boks have a reality check - and get their basics right - their in for more punishment

I disagree that the ABs did us a favour in getting rid of Botha and DeVilliers, that was their own stupid fault. I feel the Boks will try to play a forwards game and keep it tight, like the poms tried to do inn the first test, though our front row is better this time around. If the forwards can hold the Bok pack, the backs should run them around the paddock. Deans' selections will be the key point. The Boks biggest loss was there number one half not being available. He gives the team the spark it needs. Aussies to win through their backs, Giteau to have an on night with the boot and Berger to be the third Bok to get a ten minute rest.

The concern I have this week for the Wallabies is that it will be four weeks since Australia's last match and the Sprubgboks will be stinging from their losses against the All Blacks.

The Wallabies better be ready for this. Any sniff of underpreparation and they will be in trouble.

There is the expression 'beware of the wounded kangaroo'. Well the same saying holds true for the Springboks.

I'll be hoping the Wallabies do the All Blacks a favour, but at the same time it's going to be difficult for the Wallabies.

As long as Australia field their best front row Robinson, Alexander and Polata Nau (similar to Mealamu dynamic around the fringes ) then they will win easy 10 Pt's.

SA will start off like a house on fire then tire big time in the last quarter( after their All Black whipping) Quade Cooper and Will Genia will run amok down their fragile inside defence.

I'd go for the Springboks on this one, it should be close though. Wallabies just dont have much experienced players

aussies would have to work on their scrum alot and they would have to try and maintain their kicking and lineouts as well. i think since SA has had huge losses from the ABs they might have been softened a bit so aussies should take advantage of that . but yea its going to be a tough one. Go The Aussies !!! from a ENGLAND fan from NZ lol!!
